Default Would you pay extra?

I bought a top a few days ago on eBay. Shipping from USA to Aussie was listed in the auction as $25.85 including insurance.

The seller sent me a paypal invoice for top plus $29.95 shipping plus $3.30 insurance so a total shipping of $33.90

I emailed to query and was told that $33.90 is the correct amount. I emailed back again to query this as the listing stated $25.85 all up.

I haven't heard back except for a reminder to pay.

What would you do? It is only $8 but I think this is dishonest. I have had items ship express for this amount, priority is normally $20 or so, I figured the extra 5.85 was for the insurance,

Usually I find that if you read the auction the seller will state that they need to add insurance on for international buyers, and they usually add it on when sending you the final invoice. In my experience anyway. I'm happy to pay extra for shipping, the insurance is worth it, especially for international post!

Maybe the seller just forgot to write that in the auction?

Well if the auction stated $25.85 including insurance then she needs to honour that. It may be a typing error on her part. I would query it.

ITA! I don't think it was right for the seller to add on additional shipping charges when the cost had already been quoted. However, shipping from Australia to the US is normally much more expensive than shipping from the US to Australia. I personally would not want anything shipped to me without insurance. I don't actually believe you are being overcharged. I think the seller failed to make herself clear.
