Won 2 items on Ebay--shipped, but still no tracking info!!!

Has this happened to anyone? I recently bought 2 items on eBay the exact same day. I also received the tracking number from both sellers through Paypal. They both printed the labels on Thursday (July 17) and both said that they would ship out on Friday (July 18). It's Tuesday, still no packages from either seller. The tracking info still says "electronic shipping notice for USPS left, etc." I understand that sometimes items don't get scanned and they just show up and then show delivered, but they both say the exact same thing. One is coming from California, the other from New Jersey. I'm in Oklahoma and Priority packages will arrive to me no later than 3 days. Today is day number 3! I should of received both of them by now. Am I just being impatient or do you think there is a problem? I was going to wait one more day for both to show up and then contact the sellers. I have insurance on both packages so the sellers could call the post office and give them the insurance tracking info to see if the tracking is coming up that way. Is this just a coincidence? Has this happened to anyone?

I've had that happen a few times and it turned out okay so I wouldn't worry too much. I bet it's just a coincidence. I've had sellers ship out later than what they told me so it could be that too. Don't worry; hopefully, you'll get them tomorrow.

Just sit tight for another day or two. Over the weekend the southwest had nasty weather so there might be a bit of a postal delay coming from that direction. The usps tracking system is only good for delivery confirmation, regardless of what they tell you.

fashiongirl, the USPS is HORRIBLE as regards electronic tracking. I have actually received packages that still stated "electronic billing info received" on their website! They know they are bad and are supposedly in the process of using FedEx consultants to overhaul their online system (yea!).

I am sure your items will make their way to you soon. Don't you love/hate the waiting game for a handbag or other item that you really want? Do you find your brain wandering off in anticipation?

I know I'm about to go crazy. I bought a Fendi baguette and a DVF dress in the rare dijon color so I just can't wait to get them. I just don't want there to be any problems. Thanks everyone for making me feel better. Now it's just a waiting game.

Unless it was sent USPS Express, there is NO tracking for Priority. It is simply delivery confirmation. Now, sometimes they scan the barcodes a long the way - so it will say "departed from XXXX" or "arrived at XX" however, they do not need to do this and is inconsistent at best. I'd wait a few days, as priority 3 day is just an estimate. I've had priority packages take over a week. Thats rare, but it happens.

Yah, I agree with everyone else. USPS sometimes doesn't show until it's delivered. That's because Delivery confirmation doesn't equal TRACKING.

Yeah I get this a lot...sometimes it gets updated and sometimes it doesn't.
Recently I had something that had SAID it was delivered in my zip code but even after 2 days, I still didn't get it. I went into my PO and asked about it...the next day they came to my door and delivered it. Apparently, the carrier put it in the wrong box.

Sometimes I think the tracking #'s are a waste since they're rarely updated.

Anyway, I hope you get your items!

I have a tracking number for a package I mailed 1 week ago to California and it is still not there and all the USPS website says that the item was shipped on July 16th and that's it! I paid $24.50 to ship a large box and they can't even update their website?

It's delivery confirmation (unless you sent express) it will not get updated until the package is delivered. That's how delivery confirmation works. The only reason it says "Track AND confirm" is because tracking IS available for Express shipments.

UPDATE...

Neither one has arrived yet but I was checking to see if any changes had been updated to the tracking numbers this morning and well.... the DVF dress shows that it just now processed today at the post office where the seller is from. This tells me either they are slow as hell or she just brought the package to the post office yesterday.

As far as my Fendi baguette, thought it would come today but no!!!

I emailed the seller and just asked when he physically took it to the PO and if he could track the package down with the insurance number. I've personally have done that before when I had sent packages to buyers because the signature confirmation number wouldn't update but the insurance tracking number was acutally current. Go figure! Well, I just have to wait for a response from the seller and hope that it shows tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

I am in Oklahoma and I got on the computer to post about this exact issue! I am not worried about the tracking number, as those are worthless with USPS, but I won the item last Tuesday and the seller said she shipped it on the 17th but STILL no box. It was supposed to ship in a Priority Box, which is 2-3 business days.

So if it doesn't arrive, how long are we supposed to wait before filing a claim?
