Default Why would Ebay do this?!
I was selling 10 items (BCBG shoes, UGGs, ed hardy shoes, etc) that were about to end in one hour. A few days ago, I asked ebay to review my account to see if my selling limit could be lifted and I got an email today saying no. Then all of the sudden, 8 of my items were taken off "due to a listing violation" but it never says what I did wrong. I took my own pictures and wrote my own description! 2 of my items are still there and they were listed in the same way. What the heck is wrong with them? That was really wrong of them to do. I feel so angry because I lost out on selling my items today. Are they going to pay me back for my fees then?

Did you say you take checks or money orders?

Ebay won't tell you what you did wrong, yet they want you to review their rules so that you don't do it again. Ironic isn't it? I'm so glad Bonanzle has been growing!

Well don't ask ebay what you did wrong, you'll get their standard "we can't tell you" answer, or non-answer.
Sorry about that.

It seems that Ebay is becoming more and more tyrannical every day...

Maybe call them? Speak to a live person and ask what the deal is!

That is crazy. I will have to call them because I spent $14 in fees for no reason!

It is crazy - I had auctions pulled and went through the same experience only when I called they said I couldn't talk to anyone because they had to have a "record" of our correspondence! They are the most aggravating, frustrating and worst companies to do business with but sadly as king of the hill we are still at their mercy because we need the buyers they provide.

Did you ever get you fees back? I just called ebay (didn't find the number on THEIR website, looked on google lol) and it basically told me to go to the website for help and hung up. Wow this is frustrating.

Try the Live Chat and see if they help. I wouldn't hold your breath, but they might help.

I would keep calling. Sometimes I wonder if *bay pulls listings periodically under the guise of "the rules" to double their profits from listing fees, betting most people will try to re-list eventually.

Wouldn't surprise me ~LOL.

You said you asked for your limit to be removed - do you mean that you're restricted as to how many designer items you can list? Were you within your limit at the time these were taken down? I'm wondering if you happened to leave the designer name out of your titles because of the restriction, and when eBay reviewed your account they noticed it.

On the eBay boards they used to recommend emailing whyended@ebay.com for more information on take-downs, but I'm not sure that is too helpful anymore.

Yes, a limit on designer items. And yes I did leave "Gucci" out one item to get around the restriction. But I ended that auction early b/c I realized I could get in trouble for that and it has not been active for several days. But they removed my active non-designer items that I listed correctly...BCBG, Ed hardy, Bebe, etc. I posted the names on the titles, posted my own pics, and wrote my description. They left 2 of those items up and took the rest down, which is why it doesn't make sense.

I submitted an appeal so hopefully I'll hear back from them.

No rhyme or reason why *bay does some of the things they do..

But it always good to try to get a "plausible explanation, so one can better

understand their thinking.. doesn't mean we have to like it, but then again.. who knows?
