Default Why do some say Google Checkout is better?

Hi all-

Just trying to figure out if Google has more , less, or equal protection as Paypal.

Seems that sellers like google better, i guess maybe google is more objective as in not siding with buyers automatically like paypal does. I've never used it as a seller I did buy a book one time and the seller only accepted google checkout so I had to use it then, it was easy enough to use I was able to register for an account in just minutes (might be more drawn out if you wanted to use it as a seller to recieve payments)

With Google checkout the buyer has the same protection as if they bought from eLUXURY or ShopBop and used their merchant solution. They can call their CC and file a chargeback.

This prevents a lot of bogus claims because the CC company does good research. (in my experience).

With Google checkout the card being used is authorized as valid before shipping so if it's stolen or hacked, etc then there's a good chance it will be caught.

I just prefer anything other than the eBay/paypal monopoly.

^^^ True, I had a buyer from Spain last month and the google verification (review) took around 6 hours, when it was approved I felt so relieved as I know they do check!

Google Checkout is great. You just have to be careful about using it on eBay. You can't officially link it to your listing and you also can't state that you accept Google Checkout in the listing or you are at risk for having the listing pulled. The fees are lower than PayPal and they seem to have good protection. I'd probably still use them even if the fees were the same as PP, just so I don't have to give any more fees to PP.
