Cool When sales are slow what kind of auction do you use?

Should I use a very high starting bid (my reserve), an auction like that but with a BIN? Should I just use a NR auction- or just a straight BIN style auction?

What works best in the summertime when sales are slow?

Thanks for the advice

i usually have an auction w/ a reserve but a low starting bid. I want to see how far up it gets, maybe if i'm lucky reserve will be met. if it doesn't i can decide if i want to give a 2nd chance offer to the highest bidder.

evolkatie's technique is a good one! However, if you are thinking of listing expensive purses or collectables I'd hold until Fall if you can. You will make more money from Mid-Sept. on.

evolkatie-That sounds like a good idea, I'll have to try that sometime.

I agree with evolkatie too.... it just sucks so bad when the reserve isn't met..

I do the same thing that evolkatie described.

I personally don't like to use reserved listing since its fee is high. Plus there are tricky bidders put high bids then retract them so to detect the reserve price. I usually put the minimum price I would accept, then a BIN with immediate payment required. Selling might be slow, but at least I don't loose too much money.

As a buyer, I love the BIN/Make an Offer option.

As a seller, it's a dud. Lots of watchers, nobody buying.

BIN / Best offer works pretty well for me. Well...not this week...but usually.

I agree with this. I have BIN best offer listings and upto 15 watchers on one of them?? Is it peoples wish list or are they intrigued as to what the item fetches ?

This is a good technique to use to draw people in, they will look at your other items for sale that are BIN.
