Default What's w\Intl' buyers not asking shipping cost?

Twice in a week, two international buyers bought expensive items from me without asking what I change to send to their country. My auctions even specified that my shipping rate was only for the U.S. and to please contact me if they were international.

I’m an international buyer who never asks about shipping costs mostly because

a) I so much like the item that I don’t really mind the shipping costs

and

b) Im aware of price range on shipping to my country and never had any bad surprises so far.

But you are right, it is better to ask in advance.

I’m just not sure why it bothers you?
As I see it, by not asking, buyer silently agreed to any amount you decide to charge, right?

I half agree with Trystana. If somebody is happy to buy the item without asking the shipping cost then they must be happy to pay whatever.

But if they buy it and then try to beat you down on shipping cost - or even ask for it free - then that is going too far. As an Intl' buyer (in the UK) i ALWAYS ask for the shipping price before hand. But as you can see in my latest troublesome purchase that it sometimes doesn't work out. A seller is currently trying to get more money out of me.

Additional Shipping Costs - are you kidding?

Even though i asked before i bought the item - the seller changed their mind on how much they wanted to charge me. Even after i had paid. There are updates on the 2nd and 3rd page x

if it was a BIN she probably wanted to snap it up before anyone else did , rather than wait for the postage info !

I always ask for shipping cost prior to bidding or hit a BIN after all it is part of the total cost.Besides some sellers overcharge international shipping price so much that if I feel they are too unfair,I do not bid at all. However,I've always met nice sellers who are happy to negotiate and accommodate :)

I don´t always ask about the shipping cost because I know it will be about $40 to Sweden (from the States) should I buy a bag....if I buy something small and want it registered it´s $20 even if it´s just a philosophy hope in a tube.

ps. I am a real pleasure to deal with,LOL

I always ask for shipping cost first of course, cause like what gMbt said, it's part of the total price.

Those who don't maybe don't mind paying however much :)

Although these past few days I've been asking a seller how much shipping cost is but never replied. Auction says she ships worldwide but shipping calculator doesn't have my country.

What's with her eh :/

How can international buyers bid if you don't have an international shipping preference and cost set up in the auction? Do they set their eBay country to the US?
