Default What's Up With Ebay????

Oh my God, I cannot BELIEVE this! I've been out of work since April and thought "OK, I'll just sell some of my bags - that'll be a big help!" WELL, I sold TWO today, a Dooney and a Prada. Unfortunately I didn't get nearly what I should have but that's the state of the economy now - no one's buying anything it seems! SO, I go to list 2 of my MJ bags and they tell me NO - you can't list anything for 30 days!!! To cut down on fraud since I'm selling name brand bags they won't let me sell but 2 a month!!! ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME???? I have almost 700, 100% positive feedback - NO complaints ever and NO proof that I've ever sold a fake and yet they let all these yahoos sell all these fakes ALL THE TIME!!! We even report them here at TPF and they STILL get by with them and relist! I am FUMING right now and don't know what to do!! I was really counting on that money!! Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Im Sorry to here this CYN if you go to the eBay forum there is a 10 page thread from Irate sellers (and rightly so) having the same problem. I dont think there is any rhyme or reason to how they choose the limitations but the only way to lift them is to contact trust and safety and ask for the limits on your account to be lifted. And even still they can deny your request. I wish I had a better answer for you! Im sorry your going through this, I hope it gets resolved quickly~!

Wow, they have seriously gone off the deep end.

Maybe they should invest in some serious authenticators to get their butts out of trouble instead of making it so inconvenient to sell authentic designer goods. I have a feeling they are going to see a decline in profits and happy sellers/buyers if they keep this up. Limiting the number of bags you can sell per month won't get rid of the fakes, paying people to authenticate the bags will work and keep everyone happy. Of course I'm sure this is no longer feasible after losing that big lawsuit to LVMH.

I wish I had some other suggestions... craigslist, perhaps? I don't know, but I wish you the best of luck in your selling endeavors.

Yes this true!! But, I feel bad for those sellers who have made selling on eBay their major source of income or a sub source at the very least.. Ebay spent countless years luring them onto Ebay with promises of customer service and providing a place to sell thier goods. Just to turn around and shut them out. Now so many are stuck with rooms full of inventory that they can't sell as there are no alternative venues that can match Ebay's at this time.

I have plenty of handbags that I need to sell (way too many.) But, I have no way to do it right now. I figure if I even tried to sell at the pace eBay is allowing selllers to sell (a few a month.) They will go out of style before I can list them So since I can't sell.....I can't buy...that makes me sad I am looking to other areas to move some of the handbags that I have.
None look promising though.

I am so sorry for those who are really struggling right now.....I know this is shocking

OP.......Just know that you are not alone!!!!!! There are many feeling the pain.....

Hi CynDZ,Same thing has just happened to me(Help i cant buy and sell my Mulberrys thread).Same here, have 1006 100% positive feedback, have never ever sold a fake anything, thought my feedback spoke for itself but now find that 6 years of trying to maintain a good seller reputation have all been for nothing.eBay restricted me for 30 days. When i appealled they told me to try again in 90 days.I have given up emailing them. They just wont listen.I have a poor buyer now who thinks she has bought a fake Tiffany bracelet (absolutely genuine with receipt) as Ebay removed the listing AFTER she purchased it.They have made me feel worthless and a bad seller (even though i am not!) I was almost in tears last night at the injustice of it all.I have decided this morning if this is how Ebay wish to treat their honest sellers i will no longer sell on Ebay even though it means i can no longer fund my Mulberry passion.

I am also banned for 90days for no reason. 100% positive feedback and a powerseller, but I read a few posts on this forum and I was able to relist my items by just removing the brand name from the title and adding it to the subtitle, we'll see if it shows up when I do the search! I also added tPF member so people can know I am an honest seller and not trying to sell them some fake look alike bag LOL.

I was thinking about doing this too. Let me know how it works out for you. In the meantime, I will see what response my appeal is met with. This is insanity. I have 1 item up right now and that is all that they will let me list for 30 days. I have seen items show up in the search as long as you have the brand listed in the item details within the auction, it should show up. Keep us posted.

Oh, not you too, Gina! This is ridiculous. When one of our authenticators is allowed to list one item in 30 days, I give up! And am p*ssed off!

Yeah, me too. And I really need to list right now. I have almost 2000 positive feedback and have sold several Chanel bags and other items with no incident, except for the disgusting thief from the UK that tried to scam me out of a jacket by doing a fraudulent chargeback several days after her purchase. She had done this to COUNTLESS sellers over the course of a month and some lost quite a bit. Paypal urged me not to ship, and I didn't. Other than that, I have had nothing but happy buyers for my Chanel listings. So, I list 1 necklace and then tried to list a bag and was told I cannot list the bag for 30 days. I have appealed my limit, but I'm not holding my breath.

So, I can't list my NTW AUTHENTIC bag, but listings like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/Authentic-Brand-...QQcmdZViewItem
can stay up? I am so fed up.

That auction is a tutorial on what you DON'T want to see when looking for an authentic bag, and yet it made the cut. ITA with you about the complete lack of ANY criteria here for limiting sellers. There was a fake blue bag that resembled the Olsen bag up yesterday, a relist from last week. A friend emailed it to me and when I went in to look at it, it had been removed. I could only imagine 2000 women reporting that hideous fake as they sit in front of their computers checking to see if eBay has responded to their emails! Had I seen it when it was still up, I too would have reported it, just as I did last week. That seller was allowed to relist a fake that had previously been reported. I do not understand any of it, and I am very glad that I don't. I might be as demented as the eBay powers that be.
