Red face What would you do?? (long)

I've listed several bags on eBay recently in order to get some needed fast cash. I almost always start my bidding at .99 with no reserve. Unfortunately someone else had the same style bag (larger version though) listed with the beginning price of $850 which is due to end in a couple of days. She has no bidders on the bag. I received this msg from her:
Hi,
I listed the same bag 6 days ago and it finished in 2 days. I was wondering if you would end the listing, in return I will put you incontact with the second bidder down.
It is just really disheartening as my listing has now been a complete waist of money and time.
The out come will then be that I will have to re-re-list my bag after your listing and then you don't get as much as you would..we both loose.

I replied with this:
I'm sorry but you are offering the larger sized *********. Mine is the medium sized one.

Her response:
Hi,
>>
>>I would be happy to pay for you to re-list the bag in two days once my
listing has finished.
My response:

I'm sorry but if I take the listing down right now, those who have it on
> their watch list are going to wonder what happened and possibly scare them
> from bidding on my bag. I don't know if you read my listing, however I have
> not opened up bidding to International bidders unless they agree to my term
> listed and therefore, I am sure that your bag would be of more interest to
> International bidders than mine would. Again, your bag is the larger sized
> version of this bag and therefore worth more than mine as well. I am sorry
> if you believe that I have interfered with bidding on your bag, that was not
> at all my intention, as you can see from my other listings (with the
> exception of one or two), I start my bidding at .99 which keeps my eBay fees
down as well as garners interest from possible buyers.

Her response:

That's fine. I am sure you didn't intend t do what you have done, I just always
check things like that before I list items for fairness to all. However I am
going away and need to get sell it.

Should it not sell unfortunately I will be forced to re-list it as you have,
which is not in either of our interest as no one get the optemum price.

Do you think that I am being unreasonable or bitchy about this? I mean, I am just trying to sell my bags as quickly as I can and have never had anyone ask me to take my listing down so that they can sell their bags first. I know that I would never ask someone to do this.
What would you do???
What would you do?

Oh Heck naw! You aren't being unreasonable. You are on eBay to make money, not friends. Ebay always has multiple items competing against each other, especially ipods. That's just the nature of Ebay. She needs to man up and deal with it.

^^^AGREE!!! You have done nothing wrong and you have been very professional in the way that you have communicated with her and handled the situation. Everyone has the right to choose what price they want to start their auctions. Do not pull your item. I've done the same thing where I have listed my items at .99 and it definitely creates a lot of watchers and they sold very well, too. Don't worry about her. Keep on doing what you are doing. GOOD LUCK!!!

I can't even imagine asking someone...anyone to do something like that. Blow it off and go on with your listings!

Her bag being 850 makes yours look like a super bargain! So of course it would be in her best interest for you to end your auction for her. But this is eBay, not some private board where friends don't want to compete with other friends' auctions. You have every right to list whatever you want at whatever price, and if other sellers don't like it, oh well...

ITA!! I would be tempted to tell the seller...why not relist your bag at 99 too.

SHE WANTS YOU TO DO WHAT??!!! Heck no!!

What she is saying is that she is annoyed that she has competition and wants to make you go away. Ask her to please stop contacting you, she shouldn't be doing this.

No, you are being completely reasonable! I can't believe she asked you to do that! I would have had meaner things to say if someone had asked me that. You did a great job of replying fairly

Great!! That's what I thought as well. I mean, I know that it would be frustrating to be in her shoes, but she has the same opportunity to list at whatever price she would like.

Thanks to you all!! I knew that I could count on my tPF family to help me sort this out!! You all are AWESOME!!!

I agree with posters above! If she didn't want competition then she shouldn't sell anything on eBay since there are always more than one of the same item at a time and some are cheaper than others. Still can't believe she asked you to take off your listing! I'm shocked; words that come out of people these days.

W-T-F?! Where does she think she is selling?!??

Like I am going to wait to sell something to give my competition a courtesy shot a the sale first... You have got to be kidding me! Ignore her and better yet block her from ever having a chance to do something of your future listings as retaliation.

What a nut job.

Ooooh, retaliation? I didn't even think of that! What could she possibly do? Either way, I'm going to block her right now.

Who knows, but if she is messaging you to remove your listing, no telling. I've never even heard of someone asking that, and I've heard a lot of eBay stories.

BTW, HEY THERE!!! I grew up about 20 minutes from you in the Hemet area!
