what to include when mailing....

okay my buyer finally paid me after 2 days (which felt like an eternity to me), so I will be shipping out the bag to her tomorrow. the bag sold for near $1000. I like mailing with USPS Priority mail, but what else should I include with it?

Should I send with registered mail?
or should I use the signature confirmation with insurance?
should I actually insure the value of it's worth?

This is my first time selling something on eBay worth more than $100 haha so I want to make sure both the buyer and I are protected in case anything happens *knocks on wood* thanks so much!!!

Ship it with delivery confirmation and insured for the amount you sold it for. They will have to sign for it since it is insured anyway... I also get a return receipt. It is a green card that includes your return address and the buyers address and they sign it upon delivery and then it gets sent to you. I like this as it provides a hard copy of their signature that the item was received - just to CMA.

If you print your postage at home from paypal you can only insure the item for up to $500 so you will have to take care of this at the post office. Anyway. You can print postage at home for cheaper items and the Delivery Confirmation is FREE. Just FYI

Congrats on the sale and the payment! Insurance with signature confirmation and if the bag is highly knocked-off a security tag if you have them. Take a pic of the bag with the security tag or lock in place. Hope all goes well. :)

OH yeah!!!! Def a security tag of some kind. I just use a colored cable zip tie and attach to a inner zipper for my Coach and D & B and MJ bags. For any LV I use a small combination lock that I picked up at the Dollar Tree and the buyer contacts me for the combo when the get the bag and are happy. Seals the deal - there is a thread about using a lock - a WONDERFUL tPFer had the idea!! Just do a search in this forum... not positive but I think it was Material Me - you can search threads she started...

New here, you must ship with signature confirmation according to PayPal.

Any item $250 or more, must be shipped with signature confirmation and I would add insurance to it.
