Default What is freaking wrong with people

I listed a marc jacobs zip clutch/wallet and in the auction I clearly stated that the wallet had tiny pen marks on the interior and was marked by NR with a rivet to prevent returns. The wallet is lovely but since it does have the pen mark and rivet I started it for 125.00. A lady emailed asking if I would do a BIN because she would be out of town when the auction ended. I said yes and stated my price and told her to let me know. She replied with a yes and then asked to see a picture of the SKU written in the wallet. As I had NO IDEA what she was talking about I sent an email asking if she ment the pen marks. She did not respond so I never did the BIN. Well the wallet ended and the same lady was the winning bidder ($131.00). She paid and I shipped. Well I just got the following email:

Hello, I am going to have to return this wallet. I asked beforehand if it was used and was told by you that it was not. After receiving it today, I see obvious signs of use inside and out. There are multiple pen marks on the interior along with a number of some sort written onto the fabric. The coin compartments show imprints of coins being housed in there, from obvious usage. The hardware is scratched as well. None of this was stated in the auction. The wallet is as it was sent with your security tags intact. Please let me know where I can send this wallet to.

There are no coin marks and the hardware is not scratched.

Should I take the wallet back and refund her or is this a case of buyers remorse. Her feedback is 97.1

Ask her to send you pictures of the scratches and coin marks in bag. If it had pen marks I don't understand how she thought it was new? you clearly stated the marks in the listings, not your fault if she doesn't know how to read.

It was a different lady than who said she wanted you to set up a BIN for her?

This one says she asked you beforehand it you said it was not used... Tell her to show you proof of when you said that to her! As you said you stated in the auction of the SKU and pen marks!!!

Ridiculous!

I don't know how some of you hold your cool with nut buyers like this.

Whew I would be flipping out. LOL

I just looked at her feedback and she won the same wallet in black two days after mine.

It was the same lady that wanted the buy it now. I just looked up the back and forth email again. All she ever asked me is if I would do a buy it now and then the second email agreed to my much higher price and asked for a picture of the SKU written in the wallet. Since there is not a SKU written in the wallet I asked her to clarify her request. I never heard from here again until she bid at the last minute and won the wallet.

omg! I wouldn't take it back....if she files a PP claim, you have proof of what you stated in your auction. I'm so sorry this happened to you - I know how AWFUL buyers can be! GL!

It does to me too, bentley (buyer's remorse). It sounds like she won the other wallet two days later and once she had them both, she decided which one she wanted to keep. Why not just go to a department store? Geez Louise, it is one headache after another on eBay. I have so had it with these problems. If someone doesn't want an item I have sold them, I'd rather them send it back, but it had better be in the same condition in which I sent it to them. It doesn't sound like yours is in the same condition. This one, I think I would fight. Just another idiot.

I was very clear in the auction about the pen mark and the rivet and I would have been more than happy to send her additional pictures, but I couldn't figure out what she was talking about (SKU) and she never responded. Now I have one hugh pain in my but and she will probably leave me a neg. Also she has only been a member since 4/08 and has 10 feedback 97.1%. I think I should have seen this one coming...........

A SKU is a store tag. I think it means "stock keeping unit" or some such thing. If she was asking for that, it means that she thought it was a brand new item. Since you never answered that email, I think she has you confused with another seller or just plain made that up. But regardless, she will continue to be one big PITA. Do you want to deal with this?

Her exact words were: May I see a picture of the SKU number you mentioned being written in the wallet.

That was why I asked for her to clarify her question.

I think she is a difficult buyer and you simply need to decide if she is worth all of the hassle that will be involved. She didn't bother to read your auction correctly. You are definitely in the right, here. But nowadays on eBay that does not seem to matter very much. I think you will win any dispute. Your auction clearly states that there are ink marks. What do you really want to do - keep the money and fight a refund, or refund the money to her and escape the headaches? I can certainly understand both choices.

I would be afraid that if you didn't accept the return and ANY/ALL demands she puts on you she will file a negative. It's up to you but I think it might be worth fighting her through Paypal and also make sure you tell eBay she bought another wallet 2 days after yours. Include any correspondence you had with her too. I think you have a pretty good case since you spelled out the flaws in your auction.

Good luck with your decision. Please keep us posted.

And unfortunately as sellers now, we can no longer leave ANY negative feedback for jerks like this.
She can only leave negative feedback for you. I really really hate this...

I would tell her to double check her emails to make sure she wasn't inquiring about the OTHER wallet she bought and trying to return yours cause she changed her mind.
