Default Ways in which a buyer can screw a seller:

As I continue to sell on eBay (and my friends) I'm seeing so many different scenarios where the buyer has WAY too much room for screwing the seller. Buyer who like to abuse the system must be grinning from ear to ear. Here is a list of scenarios that show how bad the seller can get burned. Please feel free to add:

-Buyer buys a used handbag and the auction goes into detail about the areas of use and shows a lot of pictures of these areas. Buyer wants more money back and magnifies these areas of wear as "worse than she thought" and gets more money back even if the bag is described well. She offers to take pictures and amplies the defects by damaging it further. You offer a full refund and get a bag back that is now damaged and not just used.

-Buyer uses a bag for 30-6o days, gets tired of it, wants another bag, files a claim, gets her money back after wearing the bag for a small amount of time.

-Buyer decides she really doesn't like the bag as much as she thought and now has her eyes set on another bag and needs the money. Buyer threatens seller with negative feedback and gets her money back.

-Buyer states there is damage on the bag that was not mentioned in the auction. Buyer doesn't like the bag and has caused this damage herself. She damages the bag and takes a picture of it. Threatens to leave a negative.

buyers just simply don't pay!!! they bid, they win the auction, they don't respond to the invoice or emails.....
Ever since the 'buyers no longer can leave negative feedbacks for the sellers' rule began, I had at least 5 non-paying buyers. I just don't get it, if you are not going to pay, why bid?!!!!!

And, unfortunately, that is NOT nearly a complete list of everything that bidders do.

*knock on wood* I haven't had any of them happen to me, probably because I sell more specialty stuff where they either want it or they don't. But, other sellers have gotten seriously screwed! Some of the crime rings that have targeted sellers are sophisticated and good at what they do--parting sellers from both their money and their goods.

So called buyers never pay and ignore all emails. I happend to me twice with same bag and in the end I am keeping the bag for good! Bored and tired of re-listing it!!!
Hate eBay feedback system at the moment and don't see myself selling anything again ever!!!(unless they change feedback rules)
It sure is buyer's market at the moment!

JHMO but this thread would definitely give any potentially shady buyers, people w/buyer's remorse, or people considering buying ideas on what kind of scams they can get away with on eBay. Tons of people - not just honest tpfers - read and lurk on this forum...so i'd be really reluctant to list all the scenarios in which a buyer can scam an honest seller...

^^Exactly what I was thinking too...just like how some producers of fake goods might be lurking around here to see how they can improve their products so that fewer people will be able to tell that they're counterfeits! Such a wealth of information that may be abused here...

LOL! OH MY GOD!!! DONT GIVE THE BUYERS ANYMORE IDEAS!!!! Trust me, there's a lot of "those" types that are members of this very blog/forum.... :( it's so horrible and scary as a LV seller.... I haven't yet had an experience like this and I pray that i dont ever but everytime I ship out an expensive bag I worry for the 40 or so days (until the paypal dispute gap is over) that I'm going to get screwed in some way....

If you (anyone) agree that posting this info is a bad idea, then please don't post any more messages so that the thread will get buried....
