I had a piece of jewelry as a BIN or BO; I started getting messages (not offers) from this person asking me if I'd accept $100 for them. I politely responded to the first two but I got two more... I finally responded "I'm not sure why you keep asking if I'll accept $100 for them, I've already responded that it's a bit too low." Then she submits a best offer of $110. Probably should have just declined but her feedback is in the 200's at 100%. So I counter for $150, she accepts & pays right away. Then today I get two more messages saying the exact same thing. "Please do not leave feedback"... this has me perplexed, so I respond "Why not? I can only leave positive!" They respond back "just please do not leave feedback do not ask why just do not leave feedback."

What the heck?! Why?! I'm really not feeling warm & fuzzy about sending these off tomorrow.

WWYD??

I wouldn't even know how to speculate on that one. I can't imagine why she wouldn't want feedback, especially since you can only give positive.

The ONLY thing I can think of is her husband checks her feedback/ID and sees what she's spending, and must have her on a tight leash. Otherwise, I honestly cannot see why.

Sounds a bit strange to me too, but I suspect that the item is a gift for somebody who also has access to the eBay account and will see the feedback along with the item description and most likely the price too. That is my guess, but in this crazy world, who really knows.

I thought that too... but all he needs to do is check her ID for recent bids so feedback alone wouldn't get her caught.

It's either a gift or she doesn't want her SO to know what she's spending... that's what it sounds like to me at least...

That's true, unless he doesn't have her password, and then he wouldn't be able to go into her account, only her feedback.

But perhaps the gift thing makes more sense. Maybe it's a gift and she's afraid the recipient will find out she purchased it on eBay. Some people may get offended by that, instead of going to a department store.

It's an odd request, I'll grant you that. If you ever do find out, please do share. I'm really curious!

No.. you don't need there password, if you have someones ID you can check what anyone has been bidding on.. through the Advanced Search function, not to mention Goofbay, Toolhaus etc....

OMG I had no idea anyone could see what you've been bidding on... that's just creepy.

Maybe it's that simple then.. maybe they didn't know that either & they think they are hiding their purchases from someone!

or she's just crazy!

She may want to "flip" (resell) and doesn't want a trail.

I guess all of these suggestions are logical.

However, if she wanted to "flip" then she should open a second eBay ID/account so they're completely separate. I have two different IDs so I can do different types of selling and buying. But I know a lot of sellers will do that. Purchase something on eBay and then resell it in one of their other stores or accounts, and the buyer is not the wiser.

I guess we may never know the real reason...

I flip stuff on eBay, and I do it all off of the same account. Maybe she just doesn't have the patience to wait until stuff in inaccessible in her feedback and doesn't think that bidders will use the advanced search feature.

I've had bidders request not to leave feedback until after a specific date, and I suspect that is because they didn't want to "found out." Not leaving feedback isn't that unusual of a request.
