Default Ugh, Got 2 nit-pickers in one day!!

So I didn't think I would get anything different from buyers on eBay, since the rep changes. But low and behold, I get TWO in one day!! One sayd the bag is 'filthy' inside and has pen marks (the pen marks were disclosed and shown in photos, and the bag was thoroughly cleaned before being sent!) and the other buyer claims the suede on the bag is 'filthy'. The bag in that case was only used a few times and the suede is definently NOT dirty at all!! In fact, at first glance, it may look like it, because Coach uses so many different shades of the suede in their Poppy purse line. Ugh. So I have a no return policy, because my bags are listed exactly as what you get, and im confident in them.I've NEVER had this problem, and now BOTH want full refunds?? I asked the first buyer to send me pictures of the so called 'filth' in the bag and told them again the pen marks were disclosed. I told the second buyer that to look at the official Coach picture of the bag and she'd see its simply different shades of the suede, not dirt.

Sorry for the long vent. This all came on a rather bad day, and Im so ready to stop with eBay....

How do you guys think I should handle these buyers?

ok, so now the lady with the suede, says she doesnt care about my policy and wants a full refund, including shipping. She has also threatened to leave bad feedback and file SNAD with paypal. Ugh. Im pretty firm on this as everything was disclosed, and pictures in close detail. Will I lose if she files?

Im sorry this is happening! Buyers are getting alot more finicking now they cant recieve negs. Im not sure about this one. If there already threatening you with feedback and dispute it might be easier to take back the bag. Minus shipping cost! Its up to you but it sounds like she's going to be a PITA

Well, the thing is, it was a BIN or best offer auction. We haggled, and she said all she could pay was 200, and she LOVED the bag. so I gave her free shipping, sold it to her for $60 under what I wanted for it, and it got to her in 2 days!! Then she does this and says im a horrible seller. I just want to crawl in a hole and die. I cant give her a refund. I sell to pay bills, so I've already used the payment. If i've ever had a buyer with a bit of a problem with anythig (slow shipping, or whatnot) I would always offer a partial refund if it was an oversight on my part. But these buyers came at my throat straight off. Its disturbing.

Don't let them blackmail you with the negative feedback crap. You had close-up photos in the auction listing. These should speak for themselves. If either one wants to drag it out and turn it into a dispute, let them. They won't win. I am anti-eBay right now and have stopped selling and buying on that site because of people like this. It won't be long before eBay implodes now that buyers have all the power. Without sellers there are no buyers and buh-bye eBay.

Thanks kittykat, thats very reassuring! I reported one of the buyers eBay message to me where she threatened with bad feedback and a dispute if she didn't get a full refund. I categorized it as 'harassing', so hopefully ebay sees im protecting myself, and she came with her claws out before being cordial at all! man this sucks!

Yeah, I had a man return some pants that he swore were worn...he said their was were on the seat and the knee, I knew they weren't but I just told him to send them back...it wasn't worth the hassle. When I got them back, they were perfect.

Maybe you could offer them a merchandise credit?

Did this buyer explicitly say in the e-mail that she will give you a negative if you don't refund her? If she did then save all e-mails because if you might be able to get the negative remove under "feedback extortion".

eBay seem to have more scammers than good buyers these days.

they said it in a message through eBay. The buyer has made a dispute then immediately escalated to a claim. I made my statements and now i guess I have to wait? I plan on calling Paypal first think tomarrow to see what else I can do to have everything they need. This is just plain ridiculous. now there is a -155 balance in my account (there was +60) thank goodness I paid the bills I needed to today.

STICK TO YOUR GUNS!!! PP claims involving previously used items are more favorable for sellers than claims involving new items. Sounds like you took clear, detailed pics of said items...make sure to submit those when required by PP. Do not cave into this feedback blackmailing these buyers are trying to put you through!

I would not offer them anything, they knew what they were buying. Used handbags. I would fight this with a paypal dispute.

Ughhh... I hate such that type of buyer If you keep ask her for proof, she will "damage" your bag to show you what she meant with "filthy".Trust me, I'm processing PP dispute with the similiar buyer of $3250 LV bag.

As long as you described the bags accurately and in full and disclosed any and all faults, as you say you did, Paypal should find in your favour.

However, I think it is important to mention that a seller should really not wait to sell their items, until they desperately need the money to pay their bills, as the money paid is not really the seller's to spend, until the buyer has received the item in as described condition.

Also, IMO, it is far better and safer (to avoid the possibility of intentional damage to items) to just offer returns (perhaps with a small restocking fee to cover relisting etc.?), as in my (rather limited) experience (from before the fb changes), even if one does, the vast majority of buyers (about 29 out of 30, in fact) do not ask for refunds, as long as one has described the item accurately and in full (and I've mostly sold clothing on eBay, so if anyone was going to take a seller up on their offer of a refund, I'm guessing it would be clothing buyers, due to size issues?).

I also think that, when one is describing an item, one should assume that the buyer knows absolutely nothing about the brand and so, any intentional ageing etc. (like intentionally aged leather and HW in the case of many Chloe bags, or the shading of the suede on the bag you mention) should ideally be mentioned, just in case the prospective buyer isn't aware that that is how the item is supposed to be.
