Default Two first-time buyers in three days
Okay I may be paranoid but suddenly I have two first time buyers asking questions and paying for my items on Bonanzle, both have quite a bunch of similiar traits. The first one I mentioned in an earlier post with non matching names and addresses on PP and the Bonanzle packing slip. I still have not heard back from this buyer.

The second buyer asked a bunch of legitimate questions, I asked her about her online purchase history yesterday and this morning, she paid up quickly with PP.

Both buyers have PO Box addresses, which I understand now is good for sellers because they have to show ID to pick up the package at the Post Office when I get signature confirmation.

Both have very similiar usernames - bonzbuyer_xxxxx

My question is, am I overly worried? No buyers in weeks and suddenly two first time buyers within a few days? And both buyers in NY.

As long as they pay, what is the concern? Everyone has to start at 0.

They may be an international shipping company that forwards the items they buy to a person in another country.

There's an eBay buyer who has purchased from me that has multiple similar user IDs that does this -- I ship the item to this company/buyer in California, and they forward the item to Japan.

that is a bit curious , can you call them ? I sometimes email or call customers to verify information. I am selling something expensive. But with Bonanzle being fairly small and new there is going to be a lot of first time buyers.

I agree. Also, when I first opened an acct with Bonz, they automatically suggested the name: bonzbuyer_xxxxx If I was just doing a one time purchase, I would have been fine with the ID. Maybe this buyer is the same.

Yes agree. When I signed up they automatically gave me a name or I could change it ,my option.Plus like a few have mentioned it is a new site and many people are just hearing about it for the first time .I noticed a thread a few days or week ago saying they -Bon.- were mentioned in a magazine so hopefully for you many new shoppers.Just be sure you ship how you need to,and they are eligible and confirmed and you will be ok..great luck!!

I just had a new buyer purchase a bag from me on Bonz. Her favorite bag was stolen and she googled it. I just happened to have the exact bag (new) on the Bonz, she contacted me and bought, very quickly. Her major concern was that it be new with tags.

Her id was something like anon_something.

I don't worry about new Bonz buyers as much as ebay buyers because paypal will only help them out if the item is not received. They can't pull all the other scams on Bonz like they can on ebay.

Actually, there is an option now to purchase on Bonanzle without becoming a member. I would imagine that they assign some sort of number to the buyers for tracking purposes, but without having "real" IDs.

From Bonanzle's No-Registration Checkout

Quote:
Bonanzle's No-Registration Checkout
At Bonanzle, we understand that you're a busy person with better things to do than register on our web site. That's why, when you checkout, we'll use the information you already have on file with your payment provider to determine where to ship your item to, saving you the time of filling out tedious address forms (though if you really love filling out address forms, we do provide the option for you to indulge your thrill and fill one out).

Bonanzle is proud to have what we believe to be one of the simplest, least painful checkout processes online. The hardest part of making a purchase should be choosing what you want to buy.

Thank you everyone for sharing esp about the assigned username! I am so glad we have this forum to be able to share knowledge about these things - it would have taken me a long while to figure all these out by myself!
