Default TPF seller list...??

Is there a TPF seller list? Or is this even possible? I ASK because when I buy, I would prefer to buy from a fellow TPFer. And I realize we still need to POST items for authentication. And I realize that SOME auctions do identify a seller as a TPF member. Just wondering if there is/could be a list of TPF sellers?

I dont think there is and I dont imagine that would be possible. Its just a case of asking eBay memebrs if they are members or look out for it on the listing

I guessed as much. Then let me please say to fellow TPFers.. PLEASE list TPF on your auction heading so that the rest of us may get to know you and become your customers! I would much rather give my money to a fellow TPFer than a stranger!!

Thats just my opinion but as we cant advertise our auctions here Ithink a page showing our eBay id would be like advertising which is a no no

I understand... and it could be a problem to have a list because it would have to be regulated and limited to only long-standing members, etc. I'd be happy if TPFers would just put "TPF" in the heading like My Poupette sellers do. Then at least we'd KNOW.

ANYONE can add tPFer to their listing - doesn't mean they are one...matter of fact scammers have already picked up on doing so. If you see this in a listing you should request the tPFers ID to confirm active membership...

To answer the question...no, there isn't a member list for e-bay. I had the same idea awhile ago, but was quickly told it was against the rules.

Yep, unfortunately anyone can say they are or even BE a PF member...even scammers.

There's a very looooong thread here about a pretty active PFer in the past who turned out to have scammed at least 8-9 buyers, including fellow PFers.

(title of the thread was "My Violet Work Turned Out to Be a Pair of Vans" or something like that)

My motto is caveat emptor (let the buyer beware) on any eBay transaction, unless I've bought from the seller previously.

Oh, I bought a bag in auction from a fellow tpf'er, and it's a terrible transaction. She posted her eBay link on the board here, put the fact that she was tpf member on the auction description, and even solicited my attention in one of the threads where I was asking for suggestions on what to get. She ended up being a non-performing seller. I paid her twice. She refunded once, and refused to accept the second payment unless I paid from a bank account (not allowed according to eBay policy but she claims that's what they told her to do!).

So redney's right. Just cos' they're a tpf'er doesn't mean they'll do the right thing and be reasonable in a transaction. Caveat emptor indeed.

yes I agree with all of the above, but a master list would be nice so that if it is someone I feel comfortable with through tPF that I can make a decision if I know a listing I see on eBay is theirs.

Did you report this to Megs, Vlad or Selena? ^^^
Solicitation and posting the link are grounds for removal,
to say nothing about her non-performance.
If you haven't done so, please do it now.

I agree about the pluses and minuses of reading
tPF member
on eBay Auction.
I have seen listings where the Seller claims to be an active member
and had all of 4 or 5 posts on tPF.

Megs and Vlad do not want to 'endorse' or promote sales
between members and they may view this type of List
in conflict with this position.

You can always email an eBay Seller and ask if they are a member
and what their tPF ID is and check them out here yourself.

I don't sell too often but everytime I list a purse or accessory. I ALWAYS mention in my listing that I am an active member of tPF, If you would like my screen name please contact me.

I always just put my PF ID name in my listings. I have no problem disclosing that in my listing...it's just one more valuable piece of information someone can use to make an informed decision to buy my bag or not!
