I don't do backdoor deal. Whoever asked, I encourage them to bid on my auctions or do BIN just like everyone else. So that there would be no "expectation" between us. I know people change their mind all the time or make a promise without meaning it. I've had so many "No show" for Craigslist items. I don't think eBay people are much different from CL people.
Because he is a new member with no PayPal account. And he insisted I call him because he would definitely buy it. I have buyer requirements on the listing he doesn't meet and cannot bid on my item. I was sceptical but he was in my country and I am not too keen on shipping internationally due to scammers. I thought maybe it was worth a try. Buying on eBay can also be paid by bank transfer so it's not illegal or against the rules. I hope this satisfy the "eBay police"!
After all of the scams that run rampant on eBay, and with the current SOP with PayPal always ruling in favor of the buyer in certain blatant scams, there is NO way in HE** that I would sell ANYthing using PayPal or ANY funds other than bank wire, western union or postal money order, if I even dared to sell on eBay or bonanza... Or I would possibly sell on CL and meet in person cash only... No freaking way, no way Jose would I trust anyone these days. It is sad for the honest buyers and sellers, but this is the atmosphere that is the eBay/PayPal of today, and just NO freaking way. I have not sold anything since 2006-ish, and the ONLY items I own, I paid retail and worked way too hard to give away to a thief... So the 30plus limited edition runway LV bags and slg's that I once collected and still MINT some never used once will SIT in their resting places until my daughter or granddaughter want them... I would rather let the baby wear an Hermes scarf as a diaper before I would risk a sociopathic label-obsessed peasant thief scam me for anything... Sorry for my rant, but xiangxiang, I don't blame or question your motives one bit- by all means, protect protect protect, because eBay and PayPal will not do so for the sellers.
Months ago I had a buyer send me about 10 meassages reagrding a pair of Gucci heels I had listed. Finally after multiple emails back and forth we agreed on a price and she purchased the shoes via eBay with a BIN. About 10 minutes after sending me immediate payment she sent me an email all in caps that said, "PLEASE REFUND MY MONEY, MY HUSBAND IS SO MAD THAT I PURCHASED THESE!" Lol! I just went ahead and refunded and blocked her. I figured, 7 days and 10 emails later and you do this? You have to be nuts!
