Default The importance of checking FB
With the climate on ebay these days, just wanted to reiterate the importance of checking past feedback. Ebay now only shows the very latest FB (think it is 12 months at the most), but you can check someone's entire FB history if you go to www.toolhaus.org. You do not have to wade through pages and pages of FB, it only shows the neutrals and the negs left for and by the person.
A lot of people are not aware of this way of checking FB. Just reading a very recent thread here where the person was scammed, and she had only seen that the seller had 100% ebay FB. Checking toolhaus was a whole different story. I hope this helps someone from getting scammed. You can't be too careful

I agree, ALWAYS check feedback, even if your seller says he/she is a Tpfer.. I got burned by a tPFer and If I had checked his feedback I would have know he had a history of not sending the items.. remember, you can never be too careful!!

Toolhaus is a wonderful tool! Occasionally eBay blocks them but they always find away around the blocks.

I was seriously considering a $900 bag from a seller with 100% feedback. I posted the auction here and the lovely ladies advised me to ask for more detailed photos.
I emailed the seller requesting specific close-up photos. The reply I received was no. Seller stated the bag was already boxed for shipping and I need to rely on perfect feedback. I checked on seller's 100% feedback to find there were several past negatives and one in particular- buyer received a fake bag. Seller's response to the claim was they didn't know it was a fake because she was not the original owner.
Funny thing is, the bag has been relisted at least 3 times.

Thank goodness for toolhaus!

When did ebay get overrun with so many scammers? I remember the first couple of years I was on ebay, people would use checks to pay; on occasion, "carefully concealed cash" was acceptable. My, how times have changed.

Always scan FB - sometimes people even accidentally leave positive FB with a scathing comment.

Thanks for this!! Yes, I was scammed by a "Trusted TPFer" and it is misery to go through right now. I wish I had checked her Toolhaus because she had over 600 positive FB at 100%.....

Kristie, I am so sorry this happened to you. But maybe you can get your $$ back. And maybe some other person here can avoid getting scammed similarly..

Agree! I love Toolhaus, it's great.
Alternatively, you can also use www.goofbay.com to do the same thing should you get the error message that ebay has blocked Toolhaus.
