Default The 30 Day Rule message.....No more listings...

Hi
My DH just got his 30 day rule message (for the benefit of the blessed who haven't received one of these, he cannot relist his item or certain items for 30 days). Not the happiest household right now.

I just noticed that only a few days ago, about 12 people were reading the eBay threads at this time of day. Now it is well over 30 and heading to 40.
At present, lots of excellent information on what to do with the 30 Day rule message is being scattered across lots of threads with varying titles. I think there is a huge number of people affected by this already, or will be over the coming days.

Can we work together to put these into a continuous thread and use the words 30 day rule somewhere in relevant titles. It might help us all with problem solving and save us all digging.

Hope this makes sense.

Thank you.

Good idea, because I got mine this morning and DIG THIS...it wasn't even for a new listing!! I was just revising a listing already posted...AAARRGGHH! When I called CS, the rep told me to email them a request to have the restriction lifted and that they would be pretty quick in getting back to me. He said it was because of all the "counterfeits" running around on eBay...YEAH, RIGHT and also with the huge chunk of money Ebay had to pay for allowing them to sell in the first place!

Sellers are going to continue to bear the brunt of eBay's costly mistakes until there will be nothing left to freakin' sell!

WOW Knuttybar, you too????

Well this was the second message I sent. I know, I should have it my tongue but I am pissed.

Honestly if you valued offering high-end authentic items sellers who have had no complaints of selling knock-off items would not have these selling limits placed. I have already sent one request, but have not heard anything. I have 100% positive feedback and all of my items are authentic. I couldn't take advantage of my 5 free listings by June 30 because of this unwarranted restriction. Please let me know how I can appeal this restriction. eBay has no problem accepting fees on the $3000 worth of items I have purchased in the last 60 days as well as all the fees you have collected on the items I have listed and sold. I would just like the courtesy of listing my authentic items as I continue to buy them from buyers who do not seem to have these types of restrictions.

OMG the exact same thing happened to me last night! I was adding a serial tag pic because one of my pic uploads "failed"(whatever that means) the first time around. Now I'm missing 2 important pics and I can't add them! WTF!!!!!!!!!

This really sucks. I have a feedback score of 225 and I have 100% positive FB.

I'm usually really understanding and even stick up for eBay. . .now I'm just miffed!

The same thing happened to me this morning! Some loser went on someone eBay account and rang up 7 pages of listings he decided to clock the buy it now button on! And of course two of those listings were mine! So ebay sent this email saying they apologize and that I was going to be charged any fees and to relist, well when I go to relist there goes the message! I spoke to ebay online and they said its for the majority of the sellers and if you email them they will lift the restriction, we'll see!

Basically when you go to list an item you might get a message saying that you cannot relist that item for 30days. You have to email them and askto have the restriction lifted, at which time they will review the account and let you know if you can.

eBay has increasingly sucked over time. I recently just got burned with NEUTRAL feedback that I didn't deserve (of course that goes against my % now). I can't even leave a proper neutral feedback for the buyer. And now this??

Ah. So instead of them working to find out who CAN'T do it... they send out a mass restriction - so that the people who CAN do it waste their time/energy/money to reverse it!? I'm sorry, this is just unbelieveable.

No wonder I couldn't update or add any new listings!!!

I requested a limit change on Monday and have yet to hear back!

Maybe they're miffed that I sent a total of 4?

I'm so tired of eBay! And now they have this thing where you cannot leave buyers negative feedback, so basically they can buy your item and not pay and you can't do anything about it! And now this! You can't list an authentic bag for 30 days or however long they feel like dumping you with this restriction and you are supposed to be ok with it! I wish there was another place to sell!

Hate to say.. but eBay is where you'll get the most buyers with follow-through. Craigslist is full of flakes (esp for high end items), and nowhere else has the draw that eBay has. It's so sad...

I got one thing up, tried to revise it and now I'm getting the OP's message.

If no one's posted it, here's an article: http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20080630...ompanylvmhebay

This is a huge downer for anyone trying to sell anything that's an authentic LVMH brand because *bay got dinged for letting people sell AUTHENTIC items because that's not their "desired retail channels".

I'm a powerseller and an honest member of the eBay community since 2002. It seems like we all spend so much time making *bay safe, but there's no reciprocity. I haven't even had a stock message from my request to have my "selling restrictions lifted".
