Default 30 day rule

can someone explain to me exactly what this is all about. I'm a powerseller who has never had a problem with authenticity, but last night I was listing a Coach bag and in big red letters it said I couldn't relist the bag for 30 days. It let me but Kate Spade up and Dooney, but not the Coach. I was afraid to try any more Coach bags. Does it mean I can not list any of my Coach bags? If I don't list them how does the thirty day rule take place? What in world is going on? I'm going to call them tomorrow but I'm sure I'll get the run around as usual. Also does it just pick bags at random, how is this thing being run? Thanks for the help.

OMG!!! I am sooooo pissed!
I just tried to list a Balenciaga bag and was denied. After almost 10 years on eBay, 100% feedback, I cannot even sell one bag!?

Maybe I should list it as Bal*nciaga?

^^ same here! i managed to list 1 Balenciaga bag a couple of hours ago, then when i tried to list a 2nd one, i got the 30-day listing restriction message. i emailed to have the restriction removed, but of course no response yet.

i've been an eBay member for almost 10 years, 100% positive feedback as both buyer AND seller, and now THIS?

Seems like this is hitting us all--- what's wrong with e-bay that long time sellers/buyers with 100% feedback are now limited listing items. This is a double burn on top of the new guideline of sellers not being able to leave negative feedback for bad buyers.
They must be bombarded with e-mails to have the restriction removed, as I have done so too.
Maybe the little * is the way to go, however, if e-bay catches on, they might decide to suspend our accounts........ugggggh, so frustrating!!

^^^ it's so irritating... I cannot even relist the one auction that ended today.
I also sent an email and spoke to two ppl on live chat.... they said it's unlikely my limit is increased :(

Could we start a new thread to get the word out of the new 'code' names?
i.e. - Bal*nciaga, Herm*s, Chan*l, etc.

Quite honestly, I think it's great they are cracking down on fakes, but 30 days!!!!!! This is ridiculous!! When I sell/buy ONLY authentic items..... NOT fair....

They are slapping everybody with it. I got a message on my phone from a PS rep and I have to have mine lifted as well. I sell clothes and I got hit for Armani and Stella McCartney. I think this is ebays way of covering their own arse.

I just got it, too, and sent an email a few minutes ago asking that if it is legal to sell my personal belongings anywhere else, why not *bay? I asked for them to lift the restriction and will see what happens. I do not sell a lot, but I have 200 positive feedbacks and just accepted their power seller rating (which I was sort of reluctant to do because I don't sell all the time). I cannot believe that they are treating their sellers this way - along with the whole feedback thing. I was told that it was Balenciaga who placed the limits, but who knows. I was denied selling a Balenciaga and a Coach but not Botkier or Gucci or Brighton. I will post if I get a response, but I think we need to keep emailing until we do!

It went through just fine. Then I decided to add a subtitle which included the word "Coach" in it. It not only went through, it now pulls up in a general search! Hoping it wasn't just a fluke, as I put the cart before the horse and bought a couple new bags before selling my old ones to pay for them. Hope this helps!
Can you please post the item number? I would like to see your listing.

THANKS!

Ironically, I can't figure out if it's people with a lot of feedbacks being hit or those that DON'T have a lot of feedbacks being hit.
I see those folks that make a serious living out of selling high-end bags are playing around on eBay just fine.... Take LV for example - major major listings - but no small-time folks like me. Okay, I have like 1100 feedback points and 100% positive, but I don't make a habit out of selling high-end bags - mostly stuff around the house, estate sale stuff....
Isn't it the high-traffic folks that are selling all the fake stuff and not all the regular people like us that don't? Or am I looking at this all backwards?

I don't understand it, either, but I had just sold a Coach bag in the last several weeks and I have a Bal listed, so I am guessing that's why I got flagged. So, my limit must be one every 30 days. But, you are right - we need to see what they are doing to the legit LV sellers (mypouette ones, etc) and Coach - there are a ton of high volume sellers on eBay selling Coach and LV. If it is just the once in a while sellers like me then that seems very wrong on several levels.

And believe me, I logged back on (and I'm just using LV as an example here)...and there are plenty of people like us listing - people with $200 LV things, etc.
So it all has to do with volume? The guy with 97% feedback and 200 postings gets to post LV and so do the high-volume people, but the people with 100% feedback and 1100 feedbacks selling a variety of items CAN'T?
eBay is run by peabrains......

That happened me but on top of that, PayPal held my auction money so I had to pay (out of pocket) to ship, provide tracking and wait 3 weeks for them to see if a dispute would be filed by my buyers (which didn't happen)

Then they wanted my soc. sec. number, proof of address, picture ID etc....becasue they decided that they wanted me to prove that I am who I say I am.

It took 3 months to straighten this out. They screw sellers so badly now.

Um, we do have the tPF marketplaza. Maybe we need to petition the Powers that Be into granting wider access...
