There ya have it....

I understand they are trying to help but to do this to an authentic seller is just not right,

MSBIRD you are on to something that others seem to miss or choose not to mention. Your beloved LVMH and others are strangling you and other customers with their lawsuits. eBay is so restrictive now that I can not sell a record because it has an orchestra by the same name as a VERO member.

Some of the anger and protest should be directed towards them. Do they have the right to tell you that you can sell your legitimate item. You will probably use the money to buy another, but they do not see that. They just want to control.

Many throw daggers at eBay. I have yet to see constructive, reasonable suggestions to solve it. They imply it is an easy fix, well........what is their solution?

In response to the excessive postage question: Are you using calulated shipping? If so, I am confused as well. Your insurance and signature conirmation should show the break down.

Regarding the strange and slw responses, I would bet that they are overwhelmed. They might have thought they could respond in 36 hours and then all $$%% broke loose.

Yes, I always use calculated shipping (Shipping Wizard) for domestic as well as international shipping. Thinking that might be the problem, I went back and edited to a ridiculously small flat rate to see if that would fix it. No such luck. I still got the excess shipping warning. I think this might have been a glitch.

I was told yesterday 24-72 hours, and I was also told that they are absolutely swamped. I can only imagine.

eBay has no problem accepting fees on the $3000 worth of items I have purchased in the last 60 days as well as all the fees you have collected on the items I have listed and sold. I would just like the courtesy of listing my authentic items as I continue to buy them from buyers who do not seem to have these types of restrictions.[/quote]

Coach Freak I totally agree i have sold £3,441.91 worth of items this month with a few NPB and eBay have no problem taking their fees yet I cant list something that has is a void transaction due to NPB!!!

I'm done with eBay after this bags sells.

Well I got no email that the restrictions were lifted, but I was able to list my LV wallet with no problems at all.

Solution for me is easy - no more LV or whatever other designer if I have to live with the item the rest of my life cause I cannot sell it in a secondary market. If LVMH are able to restrict eBay (the largest source of REAL in the secondary market) then that win will give them reason to go after the other avenues as well, including the other online sites and the marketplace at the purseforum. Fakes for LVMH are NOT really the issue, they know their customer wants real not fake. Fakes will not cease to exist they will still be sold because the people who buy them are wanting a low price fake not real.

Great than... reply to the email and if you are legit it should be removed in 24-72 hours. That would suck not being able to list anything for 3 days though but at least the ones one eBay are still there!

Perhaps they could be more picky in who they restrict instead of doing it so arbitrary, leaving the good sellers guilty until proven innocent!

BTW, not all Power Sellers have account managers. I know that Bronze do not, and I don't believe that Silver do, either. So they have to email through the Power Seller portal.

ITA! It is random, it is site-wide, and those who have not yet been burned may be in the days ahead. Most will not know until they try to list or relist an item. It's an absolutely senseless way to do business. Sellers provide eBay's income. Fewer sellers = less income. Why is that so difficult for them to grasp? It is like a kick in the teeth to honest, innocent sellers. I am 100% in favor of counterfeits and scammers being off the site forever, and I realize that does not happen overnight, but there must be proper criteria in place to determine who is guilty of selling fakes and who is not. Let's face it, eBay has enormous resources. They could devise a better plan than this, surely.

I emailed them on Monday and I finally got a response today saying that they've reviewed my account and have lifted the restriction.

Oh Lord one more thing to worry about.

I was a Power-seller until last month because of the headaches eBay has caused me.

I've had my restriction lifted once before and I don't know that I feel like going through the hassle of having it lifted again.

My Dad wants me to sell some of his camera items though, so I may have to.

Yikes!
