I have a question: has anyone received an actual email from eBay regarding this situation, or is everyone aware of it because they tried to list an item? I have received nothing from eBay. I tried to list after reading this thread only to get the big red restriction warning. Big thank you to the OP!!!!

OMG they told me 36 hours the most! This is crazy! I'm sure it will take longer because I was also told it was for the majority of the sellers, they also told me this will occur every so often!

BY the way I haven't heard anything either! I found out trying to relist two auctions some loser decided to bid on along with 7 pages worth of stuff!

Out of sheer curiousity, I went into my daughter's eBay account and tried to list a Chanel bag. It was accepted!!!!!! I did not actually hit "List This Item", but there was a warning to be sure the item was authentic, but the listing would have been allowed.

She has 66 fb, 100%, and has sold maybe 4-5 things at the most in the two years she has had an eBay account. Two or three of those items were Chanel bags, but she sells intermittently. What on earth????? Maybe these restrictions are mostly for sellers who sell all of the time? eBay makes no sense whatsoever.

Only my opinion, but I think the restriction is TOTALLY random. No rhyme or reason (I know someone else who is an occasional seller, less than 100 fb who has this 30 day restriction).

And that's why it makes absolutely no sense at all in regards to cutting down the amount of fakes sold on eBay.

^^I was able to list my Chanel bag. It's the only listing I have, but it did go through. Took many many hours for the listing to finally show up, but it eventually did. I was quite surprised since I sold a couple of bags about 2 weeks ago and was not sure if this new listing would count because of the 30 day rule.....though maybe the thirty day rule didn't start until yesterday. I haven't emailed eBay about my restriction as I really don't sell much anyway. I'm just wondering if it doesn't sell if I will be able to relist or do I have to wait 30 days.

There is no way to predict if you would be able to relist or not. To be on the safe side, you might want to send an email asking that any selling restrictions on your account be lifted. If there are none in place, good for you! Some sellers are still allowed to sell, and hopefully, you are one of them! Want to do a consignment? (just kidding!!!)

I decided to try a few things, so I created an entire new Chanel listing. I received a stern warning to be sure to include the card or serial number (as they called it) in my listing, all the same bs about listing authentic items, but no suggestion that I could not list. I think if I had seriously been creating an auction, it would have been allowed. I also did a "sell similar" listing from a bag I recently sold, changed a few things, and kept being directed to lower my shipping, but saw nothing about not being allowed to list it. Then I used a template for a Chanel bag, and got the 30-day warning. So perhaps if you create a new listing, rather than relisting an item, it might work. Apparently, the computers are reading templates as relisted items.

Good to know, I am going to try that right now.

Edit: It worked for me too!!! I will try and list some stuff tomorrow and will let everyone know if they actually go through.

Also, I changed the title of a Coach bag I was being restricted from selling from Coach to C*O*A*C*H. and that worked. I changed nothing else. Obviously this hurts me in a search, but I just put a fixed price on it, and at least it might be seen by a few people anyway. Sure beats it gathering dust or selling it for a serious loss somewhere else that has no traffic!

I am a Powerseller with 99% FB. I have been a member for 8+ yrs. Selling for all of those 8. I sell Coach & Dooney and have been restricted with my Coach items, but not the Dooney. I never received a notice email, just could not re-list my items.

Just as I thought. Totally random, completely senseless.
