This is a huge downer for anyone trying to sell anything that's an authentic LVMH brand because *bay got dinged for letting people sell AUTHENTIC items because that's not their "desired retail channels".

And of course, instead of eBay taking it out on people selling fakes.. they take it out on everyone who is staying w/ ebay.

For those who got the notice, can you please post the brands that are getting restrictions on and if you do not mind share how long have you been a seller, also what is your feedback % and score, your country, whether you are a powerseller and what level. Might help to also state if you just sell bags or other things as well. These details would help try to figure out whether this is a mass restriction or not. I don't think it is but I want to know? I want to know more than just 'I got the notice' so we can help each other please.... thank you.

I have been a member of eBay since 03, selling since 06, I mainly sell LV and sometimes I sell some Coach items. My feedback score is 225 with 100%, and all of my DSR's are above 4.8, I am also a bronze level powerseller. I think that most people that are selling designer items are now getting this message, except some are restricted to only listing one item, I can list 7 per 30 day period I guess

Hi, I just got the message as well. I was attempting to list a pair of LV sunglasses. I have been a member since 2004. I have 100% positive feedback, and typically sell my personal high end designer stuff...Chanel, LV etc. I send a message to eBay to get the restriction lifted. Waiting for a response.....

I think anyone who's contacted eBay will find out that the frontline representatives are very eager to let you know that all you have to do is message them requesting the restriction be lifted, but I think we'll find that after we wait for DAYS for a response from Trust and Safety, the restriction is going to stay RIGHT where it is.

I know I haven't been around eBay as long as some (there are plenty who remember ebay in the "good old days"), but I'm curious if this is just growing pains, mid-life crisis time or perhaps the fall of Rome for ebay. I guess only time will tell.

But with eBay fees so high, sales down, and no protection whatsoever for sellers, who will want to continue to sell (their paltry 9 items a month)? Not even worth it.

When you REVISE your listing it counts as NEW LISTING!! Be sure that your listing is perfect when you hit the botton or you'll eventually eat up all your listing with revisions!!

This is horrible!!!!!!

when you revise a listing it is not considered a new listing because you don't pay for it again. For those that are powersellers how long did it take for eBay to contact you with a response? I contacted them and they said for powersellers it should take no more than 36 hours. Wondering if there is truth to that?

I have been on eBay in the US since 2003. My feedback is 749, 100% positive. I sell mostly Chanel bags. I was a Gold PowerSeller until two weeks ago. I don't list as much in the summer, so I am currently a Silver PowerSeller. I have a special SPS telephone number, and when I called them, I was told that this was site-wide (probably the French court decision caused it IMO) and that I would need to email through the PowerSeller portal, which I did. Per the rep I spoke to, this is definitely a mass restriction.

You are mistaken. eBay definitely counts a revision as an entire new listing when we are talking about limits and restrictions. I just contacted eBay (Silver PowerSeller), so we'll see if they get back to me within 36 hours.

It might be towards limits and restrictions yes but as I said in my post they don't charge you as a new listing when you make revisions. I contacted them this morning, I hope they get back to us soon

I just decided to call the Gold PowerSeller phone support line to see if they would answer my questions, even though I lost my GPS standing two weeks ago. They did. This is site-wide. It will take 24-72 hours to get a response from Trust & Safety to your emails. No restrictions will be lifted without an emailed request to do so. This situation will exist for 30 days. After that, everything should go back to the way it was, per the rep I spoke to.

I'm sorry I guess I should've re-worded this.. I didn't mean a new listing in the sense that they RE-charge you.. I just meant it in the sense that it counts as a new listing towards your limit.. Sorry for the confusion.. I just thought that it was a given that they don't recharge you for revisions or I'm sure there would be a TON of threads on this LOL!

You're right, they don't charge you for revisions, but anyone who can list needs to be sure the listing is perfect. What a complete CROCK to count revisions as listings. Per the T&S rep I just spoke to, expect a reply to your email within 24-72 hours. They are, needless to say, swamped. I am furious because I just paid my normal $400+ eBay fees for the month!
