We should start a Class Action Lawsuit. How can eBay encourage people to sell on their site and then rip it those rights out from under them.

For people who actually have stores on eBay this must be especially hard, as this is their living and essentially eBay is closing down their stores and taking away their livelihood. This is absolutely insane!

There is proof after proof right now on eBay that they don't know what they are doing since they are allowing all of these fakes on their site anyway. Any lawyers out there that want to donate their time?

i tried another polite message asking that the restriction be lifted and got the following infuriating response:

Thank you for writing eBay in regard to the limit on your account.

There isn't anything you can do right now that will result in the
immediate removal of the selling limits on your account. The best course
of action for you at this time would be to continue selling your items
on the site within your limits. If you have other types of items you may
be able to list them on the site once you have hit the limits to help
you build your selling reputation on eBay and generate revenue.

*****
The selling limit is BS because I recently sold 3 bags, received 3 positive feedbacks (in addition to the 110 positive feedbacks) and still cannot list! If there were in fact an actual selling limit, wouldn't I be able to list 3 bags? Maybe someone at eBay is smarter than me but I don't get it!

and if each seller has a selling limit, why doesn't eBay just tell us what it is and stop playing these games? needless to say, my third email was not so nice and polite.

Here's my response from eBay:

"Please understand that eBay is not in a position to judge the
authenticity of items listed on the site. To help prevent potential
issues, limits are in place on accounts for certain categories or items.
Due to security concerns, I'm unable to share with you the specific
criteria that we use to make this decision.
We keep this information confidential to prevent potential misuse. (What a load of ....) You should be able to list other items without encountering these restrictions."

It goes on about allowing me to sell other items for 90 days. We should all list cheap items like a single paper clip for one penny and buy them from each other to raise our sales - LOL.

i'm also another victim too.....i've rec'd the 30 day rule message as well for new listing or relisting. This is frustrating. I'm also a 1000% positive feedback since year 2005 with 136 feedback but i don't understand why this was lifted.

It's so disappointing that eBay set this new rules and also not fair to we as a sellers. In fact, i do the same thing too and send an email to the customer rep and they came back to me with that my lifting is not approved. What is this....they are actually losing all their great customers with gd feedback but yet i come across many fake items sellin on ebay......this is ridiculous!!~

LMAO on paper clip part!!

I agree, we should do something about this. At first, my account was placed on 30-days restriction. After 3 or 4 times I contacted eBay to remove/lift my restriction, now they placed my account under 90-days!! Ridiculous & totally makes no sense! I have 235 feedback (100% positive) and that is not enough?!

How about this??? I just saw 3 fake Chanels listed on eBay! These are the people Ebay should be after, not cricifying the honest sellers. I even saw a few sellers with 0 feedback listing Dior and Chanels. Its not easy to be a powerseller and have 100% positive feedbacks. Much effort have been put in to achieve that and Ebay allows 0 feedback sellers to list Chanels really makes my blood boils

It looks like the only thing to do is to create a new ID and sell under it. i think that is what's happening lately because I see a LOT more 0 FB sellers listing designer items. The items (from what I'm familiar with) look authentic.

I know, I have been so angry at eBay that I have been reporting fakes to them all week!

I think this is really bad for our reputation with the buying community. Example: I'm afraid that since I sold my Chanel and the NPB didn't buy it and now that eBay won't let me Relist it for 30 days that when I finally am able to put it on eBay it will seem like something was wrong with it and the Buyer returned it! What a run-on sentence there - LOL!

Can you please let me know if this worked? Or did evilBay pull it? I am thinking of posting an LV like that too, but I don't want an even longer restriction than 90 days! I was going to put something like "...multicolor mini monogram" in the description and see if it would post and still come up on searches so it would get views.

last night i trolled the eBay community discussion boards on this topic (not the most friendly place IMO) and had a revelation: even though i blame ebay for handling the situation incompetently, the problem has been created by LVMH and its unreasonable quest to prevent their precious items from being resold. it occurred to me (perhaps belatedly) that the restriction is not an attempt to punish me for selling fakes (never have, never will), but to restrict my ability to sell my LVMH designer bags. duh. so now i am directing my anger (at least some of it) at greedy greedy LVMH -- how dare they try to dictate what i do with my bags? maybe they can get away with it in france, but i hope we still have some fundamental freedoms left in the US.

the problem with this approach is buyers won't find it under louis vuitton unless they identify the brand under the finder on the left-hand side (the one with the drop-downs). the basic search function only searches the title so at the very least, you should say "sophie" or "pochette" in the title otherwise no one will ever find it.

But how do you get past the brand factor? I understand what you are saying above kicksarefortwids and I realize you didn't post this first comment, but I'm wondering if you know the answer to this question: when eBay asks what brand it is don't one have to put something in the box if you click "other" - right? Or does one just fib and put another brand? I would think their would eventually be some sort of repercussion if you get caught. Icertainly don't want to get a 12 month suspension !!

I feel like the eBay police are multiplying like the secret agents in the movie The Matrix!!!
