so is there a sense of what to do and what NOT to do if you get a restriction?

-is there any point in complaining? it seems like many people get a 90-day restriction when they do.

-it sounds like people are having luck defying the restriction and trying to list anyway. for those who have succeeded, did you prepare a new listing, make changes to the prior listing, or did you just list the item that was previously rejected?

-is there any downside to trying to list despite the restriction -- is it actually against the rules and could it blemish your record?

I just got my restriction yesterday... I emailed and politely told them everything, that I have perfect feedback, that I only plan on listing a few more items (true for me), that everything I sell is authentic and preused, to make way for new items.

They lifted my restriction this morning. So I would try to email them and see what happens, can't hurt.

When I called CS, the rep told me to email them a request to have the restriction lifted and that they would be pretty quick in getting back to me. He said it was because of all the "counterfeits" running around on eBay...YEAH, RIGHT and also with the huge chunk of money Ebay had to pay for allowing them to sell in the first place!

Sellers are going to continue to bear the brunt of eBay's costly mistakes until there will be nothing left to freakin' sell!
Something similar happened to me last night! A non-paying Buyer asked me if she could back out of a sale I had listed for 5 days! As a courtesy I did a mutual withdrawl of the sale. So when I went to relist the item, that had already been listed mind you, I got the 30 day notice - What? It had already been accepted by VERO - too lousy. I thought I was done with eBay, but it seems to be the only place to sell items - Whah! Now I have to wait 30 days!

Does anybody know if I have my husband list it will I ( or we) get in trouble with Trust and Safety?

Thanks! M

Thank you so much Lovely4! I just signed up on the LV site you recommended and listed an item!!

Oh that sucks! Well, it seems other people have had luck emailing/continuing to try to list anyway so keep trying, and hopefully it'll lift sooner than 90 days?

Okay, so I had a 30 Day restriction. I tried to relist my Chanel twice and now I have a 90 day restriction. I just wrote a blazing response to eBay's Trust & Safety dept.

They let me sell my bag. Buyer didn't pay. I agreed to a mutual withdrawl. Hit "Relist" and got the notice. WTF. I am so mad I am going to start climbing the eBay chain of command. This is just not cool.

what exactly did eBay say -- "your restriction is lifted" or "you may sell this one bag"? i didn't realize they were going to the trouble of increasing member's limits by a specific amount (such as one listing) rather than just lifting the restriction altogether. does anyone know anyone at ebay? i would really like to know what they are smoking over there!

For me they let me sell it the first time, but not relist it after NPB. They haven't lifted my restrictions, although I wrote them an email today about not being able to relist my item. I am waiting to see if or how they respond. M

I am so angry I could ....... (#($#()#$#$+)Q+@$*Q(#$*!!!!

Like many, I was hit too with the 30 days. I was selling some of my Coach to make way for new. I was told my limit was 5 listings in 30 days. Now how they came up with that arbitrary number I will never know. FIVE ...come on! I begged and pleaded (to no avail) because I ate up my 5 listings by listing 2 and made the fatal error of revising them. Like many who have been turned down by e-Bay to have their restrictions lifted or at least increased ....I have perfect feedback..398. My 30 days was up yesterday and I guess I can list a whoppin' FIVE tiems.......BUT check this listing (seller) ....ZERO FEEDBACK and was able to list 17 ...SEVENTEEN Coach items at once ...WTF!!! http://cgi.ebay.com/Coach-Legacy-Mah...1.c0.m14.l1318

I am going mad. I have sent 6 emails to eBay to have them lift my selling limits. All 6 responses were slammed with a big NO. No point being a good Ebayer, theres no good karma in that! In less than 7 months, I have spent a whopping $25000 + on Ebay and has a great track record, why are they doing this????

Oh I know.....I have spent $35,000 in the past 18 months and some newbee comes in with ZERO feedback and can list 17 designer items that are flagged for restrictions???? and I'm restricted ??????? .....AGAIN .......WTF!!!!!

E-Bay is going to hell in a hand basket. They can't even get their tech people to fix the technical problems they are having with the Mircorsoft Live.Com cash back program.....The site has been down since last Tuesday and they said it would be working again by this past Friday. TOTAL INCOMPETENCE ALL AROUND ....starting at the TOP!!!!!
