I just read through all 14 pages of this thread!! My question is...when I search for Chanel or Gucci why are there new postings if everyone else seems to be restricted? Also, I had posted a handbag two days ago before knowing this, and revised it twice but I didn't even get a restricted message! Is it because they think I'm non-threatening since I don't have a lot of feedback?

The restrictions seem to be widespread, but random. They might get you eventually (within the next 30 days) if you continue to list, relist or revise designer items.

I would think that with all of the restrictions eBay would have to be feeling it on their bottom line as well as the sellers.

After reading all of the threads concerning the restrictions, it seems to me that MANY power sellers are restricted. These are the sellers who would normally be selling more than one handbag at a time. Therefore, the numbers of listings are definitely down. Many sellers who are not power sellers are restricted as well, the sellers who might sell three or four fabulous bags a year. There is no logic to it whatsoever. As to why you have not been restricted, there is no way of knowing. Consider yourself VERY fortunate!

Ok. Just finally caught up with all of the readings. BTW- can't believe that so many Powers Sellers are effect by this. How can we keep up and maintain our powerseller levels if we can't sell? Currently I have items listed but no one is buying because no one can sell - either that or everyone is on vacation. I put these listing up for 10 days instead of the normal 7 - and thank goodness I did. I tried to list more items and received the notice for 30 days. I have written to eBay and of course I am still waiting the outcome of my account. All of my friends banned. Ok I am done venting.

Exactly! It literally hurts my brain to try to figure this out. There is absolutely no logic to it. BTW, venting is healthy!!!

Do you mean like overstock, etc.? Yes, we can recommend them. BTW, I just tried to list an item and received NO 30-day message. This is after I was told that my restrictions would stay in place for 90 days! Perhaps trying to list every day is what we should be doing instead of waiting for another robotic email from eBay.

No. This website is currently just for LV's and they want to expand to other designer purses (eventually). They also have a bunch of authenticators and check all the listings before they are posted. Fees are extremely reasonable & they are super helpful. Hence just thought I could see if I could recommend it.... www.louislovers.com

I know this has hit some of the Hermes sellers really hard. Sellers I have in my Favorite Sellers list that regularly have Hermes items (not just bags, scarves, etc too) keep coming up with big old ZERO listings when they normally have 15-30 items.

I'm a small time seller, but when I listed my Hermes Kelly last weekend, I got the evil note. When I left Hermes out of the title, it went through fine, even though I had Hermes in the text of the auction and picked Hermes out of the list of designers to list it under so it seems like it's just going by the title of the auction, not the text. When I tried to edit it to include Hermes in the title, it gave me that nasty message, so I closed the revision page so I wouldn't lose my auction.

Yep, eBay is really hurting themselves. My husband is thrilled though. I've not found a single thing on eBay to buy all week long since the pickings are so slim. THAT is amazing.

Ditto here! In a way I guess it's good I can't find anything to buy. But by cutting out all the one-time sellers or first-time sellers, eBay has cut out all the great bargains as well. Sure, there are some bigtime powersellers still listing, and their prices are bigtime, too!!

I've managed to list and revise three LV auctions in the last week, so either I'm not limited because I made it through the first limitation 2 years ago and it exempted me, or they just haven't "hit" me yet!

Got the official email today My selling limits have been raised. I am bronze powerseller with dsrs at or above 4.8 selling since 2004. I usually sell 3- 20 designer items a month. Feedback 99.0 . Never any snads or claims filed against me. I sent the email last thursday I believe. I actually sent the email in for my buying id and selling id. Only my selling ID was lifted. They said no to the buying ID but I can understand why. My feedback is less than 50.

I still have not received a response from eBay about my limits but they pulled my only 2 remaining Coach auctions for trademark violation!!! They are authentic of course!
