Get ready to wait about a week if you are lucky. And even though you are not paying for a new listing when you revise a listing, it most certainly does count as another listing in regards to listing restrictions. There are many threads about that issue on here, and I have personally tested it myself and it is true.

I have been on ioffer for about 2 months now, the one good thing is that it is free to list with as many pics as you want, the bad thing is there is no traffic and a LOT of fakes to compete with, but there is a very nice community there trying very hard to increase the traffic.

FYI.....

A new wrinkle. I posted last night that eBay pulled a listing of mine for trademark violation (it is absolutely authentic, receipt, etc.) and now I am seeing in other threads that all of a sudden others are experiencing the same thing.

Considering ioffer, also overstock.com auctions. Anyone had any luck there? I've had someone else tell me that higher end items do ok there.

I tried listing on overstock.com before, their fees are pretty comparable to ebays (this was before ebays latest increase so it may be cheaper now) I didnt sell any bags on overstock, I listed some designer jeans there was hardly any competition on overstock whereas eBay was flooded with them. I listed 3 pair of true religion, 2 joeys and 1 billy. They had all been worn a few times but were in excellent shape, similiar ones were selling on ebay for about $70-80 at the time and mine sold for $38, $49 and $62.25 but the person who won the pair for $49 never paid. My biggest qualm with overstock was that they dont have a lot of buyer friendly features (or at least they didnt at the time) and I wasnt able to find anyway to file about the non paying bidder and I still had to pay all the fees.

This is so sad. After the listing fee re-structurization and the new feedback policy, I had decided to wait it out to see how things would play out before unloading some unwanted items to help pad the "house-fund".....but reading through all of this and then the restrictions on the number of times to list, I just don't want to bother. I realize they are trying to protect themselves against further lawsuits but they have truly hurt their business by shutting out those people that bring them some of the larger fees.

As much as I need the money right now I'm more pissed at their new policies, and I'd rather make my anger known by not doing business with them, but I'm just one little seller who occasionally wants to unload a high-end personal item, ergo I feel powerless in this situation. Collectively, we CAN hurt them and we can make it known that they are in a downward spiral with this approach, but enough people have to be willing to hold out for that to happen. If they revise their policies and do something to actually protect the seller (gee, there's a thought!) they might get some of their sellers back.

What really irks me is reading about all of you who have a very strong sales record and 100% feedback and they aren't even cutting you any slack...where is the business logic in sticking it to your best customers???

After all, they(eBay) have allowed the counterfeiters to scam the public for so many years while only caring about collecting listing fees.....not protecting the buyer. Enough said about that as we all know it was going on.

I am sure it took the LV, Chanel, MJ , Bal ,etc. years to collect enough evidence that eBay was fully aware of the illegal activity and was profiting from it in order to convince a judge ,then win a suit of this stature. I bet Ebay was in total shock. They(Ebay) are so arrogant that I bet they did not see it coming. They thought they would win. Now, what we are experiencing is a "knee-jerk".."Willy Nilly" reaction making it appear as if they are attempting to "clean house." I am sure the line is forming by other Name Brands to sue Ebay since a precedent was set. JM2 cents.

My husband is of the impression that eBay did see it coming in some form which is why the restructure and change in policies.

The biggest point that eBay seems to have missed is that most all sellers are their most devoted buyers. If the sellers go away......so do many buyers. It is anyone's quess how this will end up. But, one thing for sure.....Ebay has changed.

The optimistic side of me hopes it will return and be better and safer......... because I miss it. But, for now I am pretty much finished with eBay.
I cannot find the source for what I am about to tell you all, but it was from a link on another thread here in the eBay Forum. Someone had posted an announcement made a month or so ago by eBay that there would be some definite "tightening up" on listings of designer items IN JUNE and that this would be only the beginning. I'm sure the French court decision did not help, although eBay has appealed the verdict and is still happily listing lots of Christian Dior, Kenzo, Givency and Guerlain perfumes. They were directed by the court not to list any of those perfumes (which are all under the umbrella of LVMH) and are supposedly being fined every day they allow the listings. That has not stopped them. So I am wondering if we have all rushed to judgment as far as believing that the recent verdict in favor of LV is the ONLY reason for the listing ban. I believe this has been in the works for some time, and that there is more to come this summer.

I think it is the beginning of the end for all of us who sell authentic designer merchandise for extra cash...this will have a huge impact on me, especially with the downward economy. I typically recycle my older bags via eBay to fund purchasing new ones...I guess it is all over for now anyway.

OMG, glad I'm not alone here. eBay has been going downhill for me.. 1st increasing of fee, then no negative feedback to buyers (thats BS!), and now not letting me list LVs which I've been selling for the past year of authentic LVs and 100% positive feedback I guess stick with let-trade and other 2nd hand dealers!

Does anybody whether this has affected more countries than US and UK?

I'm planning on listing several LV items on eBay UK tomorrow (5p listing day). We'll see how that goes. I currently have a Chanel Flap up and have revised that a couple of times during the last days without any problems *kockonwood*

Add me to the list, too! I've been selling authentic items for the past 2 months and doing fairly well and last night I got the message twice!! I sent an email but suspect I'm screwed! I've been a member for 10 years, 100% feedback, but have only just started selling. I could go through consignment (which I've done) but I'm trying to get myself a little cash and don't want to pay even more fees! This stinks. Now all I can list are lower-end items that get eaten up by postal fees....

*Sigh* can't wait to get the canned response from CS.

Sorry for the rant, I know you're all going through it, too...

I'm so sorry to hear that, salearea.

The same thing happened to me, but get this, I wasn't selling LV handbags, I was selling pop art pieces that I created of LV handbags as the design. So of course, in the title of the listing, I put Louis Vuitton Speedy Handbag - Pop Art Print, whatever. I did this with all my LV Pop Art prints and when I tried to revise one of them, I got that wonderful message about the 30 day rule.

This is what I did to solve the problem, and it worked.

Instead of saying Louis Vuitton in the listing, I put LV Designer Handbag Speedy Pop Art print, but still listed in the Louis Vuitton section of handbags and it worked. I was able to relist all of my pop art prints.

Now I realize this is a bit different for actual handbags, but I think if you're still placing it in the correct category, potential buyers will find it. They were telling me to list it in the art category, but the majority of my hits come from the handbag section, not art.

Let's face it, I want to list in the section where the majority of LV fans are going, and it's worked. I have sold many LV pop art prints, thus far.

So try that. See what happens.

Good luck!

Oh, and I have been a seller since 2001 with a feedback score of 376, 100%. I have sold many designer handbags in the past, but not recently. Maybe 4 months ago was the most recent, and it was only ONE Louis Vuitton.

So yes, it seems their rhyme and reason is quite arbitrary.
