After dealing with this situation all weekend I was wondering what the was going on, so I thought I would check out tpf and am so angered to see 9 pages on this topic already. At least I now know I'm not alone. What is eBay thinking. From reading this topic, I know there are several of you that are like me. I have been an ebay member since 1999, have over 400 feedback and a perfect 100% seller rating. In addition to that, I have sold (and received positive feedback) over the past month 4 bags (Balenciaga & Chanel) totaling over $1000 each. Now I can't edit my current listings, relist things that didn't sell or relist any new Chanel and Balenciaga auctions.

I just spent this weekend agonizing over 5 additional bags to sell to fund trips later this summer. Now I can't list any of them including a HG Balenciaga that I know someone would love to have. I am so sad right now. I know eBay needs to do more to prevent people from selling fakes, but after 10 years of being a good standing ebay member, they are rewarding me by ruining my summer vacation plans.

I agree with this, too, especially if we can provide our *bay ID to prove that we are legitmate (haven't sold a fake, etc.). This is how mypoupette used to check to allow sellers on her site. Problem is, there isn't as much traffic there. I have not been a member of the purse forum for long (or at least not posted much), but it will take me forever to post 500 times or whatever the limit is to sell on here. I certainly understand being cautious but with the experts on this board it's hard to believe that anyone would be able to get a fake by them.

Anyway, I don't know if I am more burned by the new feedback system or this nonsense. I am about ready to pull one of my auctions, though, just because I don't want to pay the fee to *bay until they come to their senses.

Oh Amber, that's terrible! I know what it's like to depend on certain eBay sales to take care of little things and I really really feel for you.....

I feel so bad for you! I'm angry that I can't list my dress (a dress for heavensake!) but it's not like I was counting on the money for anything important.

I actually felt sorry for the poor customer service rep. on eBay today. I was nice to her but very, very angry about the situation and let my feelings known. It must be terrible to have to work their customer service lines right now. I bet not everyone is polite or nice to the reps.

That is horrible. I was just selling to fund another bag I want, but I pulled the auction and am going to try to call them tomorrow. I did this partly because I wasn't sure I wanted to sell it, but this pushed me over the edge. As I said before, they just offered me "power seller" and I am supposed to get more "perks" and then won't let me sell what I have been selling for years! Hopefully, if enough of us continue to complain, this will change. I could sell a car on there without this much problem.

oh, Amber! I am sorry to hear about this BS affecting your vacation plans! I can somewhat relate, b/c I finally made the decision to sell a pre-loved bag, took the time to take detailed pics., write a nice description, only to find I cannot list it. But, this was only to fund a new bag, not a vacation..... :(

I keep asking the live chat rep, what the triggers were, is it volume (too few posted), number of transactions, type of listings, etc. But, I received no answers.....

I am just beside myself. I am so angry, I already know that I'll never calm down enought to get any sleep tonight.

After waiting FOUR DAYS for a response to my request for lifting the 30 day rstriction, I WAS DENIED!!!

FIVE MINUTES LATER I got an email telling me that they had ended my listing for my Fendi Spy bag for trademark violation!!!!! I cannot stress enough that that bag is authentic!!!! (In addition to the hologram and serial numbers I have the receipt from the store!!!!!)

I am so distraught. The restriction is bad enough, but now this??? I dont even know what to do, this has NEVER happened before!

Can anyone advise me?

So far I have tried the following...emailed twice on July 3rd, live chat tonight (got nowhere), called customer service tonight (and eventually hung up on them -wanted to physically abuse someone after being put on hold for 15 minutes only to be told that I would have to wait for an email response ) and then emailed them again.

I am not going to just take this. It's so unfair. I have yet to get an email response back, but I think if we all keep beating them up over this maybe they will at least make some changes to this policy. Not only does it take away from fees they would get from sales, but some people are going to leave eBay completely. As an individual I'm nothing to them, but if 100+ people like me leave, that will certainly start to make a difference.

I swear, somebody out there has to be paying attention to this... the mighty eBay is vulnerable right now. But I doubt they are very concerned about this... to date, they own the lion's share of the auction market, no one has been able to compete.

But if someone put their mind to it and had big business behind them, it could be done.

This restriction coupled with the pulling of the listing of an authentic bag (I have the receipt!) is absolutely the nail in the coffin of my dealings with eBay.

There just has to be a better way.

Well... this will certainly be the beginning of the end of eBay. The powersellers as well as us 'little guys' pay out the nose for the eBay fees, if we stop...they will not make money off of us. What is the deal, I mean honestly. I just sold three pairs of my Louboutin Rolando's a few weeks back, taking my ability to leave negative feedback was bad enough but now telling me I can only sell something once every 30 days.

They cannot not survive off the kid who is selling his one Wayne Gretzky hockey card for $.25...

eBay Bas*ards you are.....
Agreed... can we please open up the Marketplace?

Or perhaps we start up our own Shoe and Bag auction site!!

I got the same warning flag when I tried to list an Hermes scarf on Friday so I emailed CS immediately but haven't heard anything back yet. It is such a nonsense policy that most of the sellers who sell authentic stuff got restricted while fakes are still around eBay??

I would be more appreciate if eBay could invest money on hiring experts (like some PF'ers here, lol) to authenticate every single new listing on their site instead of just doing something ridiculous like what is happening now!

Hopefully eBay is going to work this out. Not that I am too optimistic. It seems that the restrictions placed on Ebay are external and came on as a result of the law suits. Of course we all knew that it was coming and just a matter of time. After all, they(Ebay) have allowed the counterfeiters to scam the public for so many years while only caring about collecting listing fees.....not protecting the buyer. Enough said about that as we all know it was going on.

I am sure it took the LV, Chanel, MJ , Bal ,etc. years to collect enough evidence that eBay was fully aware of the illegal activity and was profiting from it in order to convince a judge ,then win a suit of this stature. I bet Ebay was in total shock. They(Ebay) are so arrogant that I bet they did not see it coming. They thought they would win. Now, what we are experiencing is a "knee-jerk".."Willy Nilly" reaction making it appear as if they are attempting to "clean house." I am sure the line is forming by other Name Brands to sue Ebay since a precedent was set. JM2 cents.

My husband is of the impression that eBay did see it coming in some form which is why the restructure and change in policies.

The biggest point that eBay seems to have missed is that most all sellers are their most devoted buyers. If the sellers go away......so do many buyers. It is anyone's quess how this will end up. But, one thing for sure.....Ebay has changed.

The optimistic side of me hopes it will return and be better and safer......... because I miss it. But, for now I am pretty much finished with eBay.

work for eBay, possibly the only job in the world where you get paid to either do nothing or screw up!
