I'm so sorry this happened to you. I am so sick of having to worry about whether or not a bag is FAKE. The sale of FAKE bags is sooooooooooo out of control. I'm sure you all feel the same way. Because of being burned in the past, I now only buy my bags from Retail Stores. I'm sure there are many reputable sellers out there, but I'm gunshy!!!

It is certainly unexpected that a seller with almost three years on ebay and a flawless FB record would pull a stunt like this. Very bizarre. Such a good record may be one of the reasons Paypal sided with her rather quickly.

That red bag is one ugly fake. Not to mention that it's the wrong colour and the wrong style. Ebay is a buyer's paradise right now so it is a good idea to stay within it. But you didn't, so your option now is to take it up with your credit card company. Because you did not get what you paid for, you should get recourse from them. It wouldn't hurt to call Paypal either.

You are doing the right thing. For non-ebay purchases SNAD, neither PP nor ebay will get involved. Although.. if you DO have ANY ebay messages from the seller about conducting this transaction OFF ebay, I would report that to ebay Trust & Safety.

Whoever is behind this knows how to work the system - she could've sent nothing & kept the money, but instead she sent the fake bag, so you can't say that you didn't receive anything - which would concern PayPal.

It's definitely out of character, this seller sold some valuable bags before, that buyers were happy with. I wonder if this is a case of an eBay ID being hijacked.

I was told that one of the main uses of illegally obtained eBay passwords is not to buy things, but to sell them - if you get the password of a seller with a 'trustworthy' history, you use it to list all sorts of expensive things, & just change the associated email address to your own so you intercept the payments. The 'original' owner of the eBay ID may not even know this is happening.

However, our concern here is for the OP - all the best with getting redress though your credit card company. If they're reasonable, it seems you have a clear case of fraud and deception. Best of luck!

Is it the same bag she bought from Linda's stuff for $999?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=380161861634

It came up when I checked her feedback.

I hope you get your money back, OP! Contact your CC company asap. They should be able to help you.

Please keep us posted.

Isn't this INR? She bought a GREEN bag, received a RED bag...hence, the item she bought was NOT RECEIVED???

Sooooo sorry OP.

Unfortunately PP will only do INR disputes (in which the item never arrives at your house) and not SNAD when it is not purchased directly through Ebay.

PP is awful if it is for a non-ebay purchase

Definitely dispute it with your CC!!!

It's still a non-ebay transaction, and no buyer protection, so rare that PP can recoup anything from the seller. AND OP already filed SNAD, which indicates item WAS received....

I filed a chargeback with my credit card (Amex) once with item not as described. My case was slightly different. I purchased what was described as brand new conditon and received a stinky beat up LV Tango and paypal even frooze my account with all my funds in there for 3 months. Yes I originallly went thru paypal and they sided with the seller because the description was a matter of personal opininon according to paypall. At the end, they still sided with the seller and I got stuck and resold the stinky bag and lost 300.00.

Good luck with your case. Fight as far as you can.

i haven't read through this entire post but is the closest police department to the seller really in attelboro, mass. this is not very close to newport, ri... you might want to look into that and see if there is a closer one.

i hate that this sneaky, manipulative person is from nearby where my parents live...

Just been doing some research. She actually used to live in RI but has now moved to Attleboro, MA. It is confirmed that she lives in the return address she put in the package. I have tried her phone # but it has been disconnected. Wonder why?

Anyway, will keep you guys up to date. Thanks again.
