Default Spoof@Ebay - Their Response
I had to share this as I think this is a prime example of WHY ebay help and ebay reporting are failing to the max....

A couple of days ago, I received an email from Ebay Research (invite@survey.ebay.com) inviting me to participate in yet another survey.... "EBAY WANTS YOUR INPUT". And I thought, OK, I am going to do this, and tell them what I think about their current Ebay Help and Ebay Reporting Depts. SO....I decide to see if this email also came thru my Ebay Messages. NOPE, no such survey request in my Ebay messages. So I forward the EBAY WANTS YOUR INPUT email to Spoof@ebay.com for verification.

Here is the EBAY WANTS YOUR INPUT Email that I forwarded....

Dear XXXXXX, (has real name and ebay ID)

We are contacting you because you previously expressed an interest in taking surveys to help us improve eBay. We've partnered with a company called Keynote to put together an interactive survey to improve the eBay shopping experience, and we'd love to have your input. We invite you to take a 20-minute survey to express your opinions about our site. Your input will help us make eBay easier and more enjoyable to use.

Decipher, Inc. and Keynote Systems are independent market research firms that are partnering to administer the survey on behalf of eBay.

In order to complete the survey, your computer must meet the following requirements:
(yada-yada)

Please open the link below in Internet Explorer or Firefox 3.5 (you may need to copy and paste the link into your browser) to answer some preliminary questions that will determine your eligibility for the survey.

Thanks for being a part of the eBay community, and we hope to see you on eBay again soon.

Kind Regards,

eBay User Experience Research

This is the response that I received this AM from Spoof@ebay.....

I know.. and I realize that Ebay HELP answers are OFTEN this ignorant.... but this one is totally off the subject of the email submitted. And did not even address "legitimacy" of the email, which was WHY it was forwarded to SPOOF. I usually get a yes or no answer from SPOOF about the email in question. Not something this off-the-wall.

Looks like someone wrongly assumed, as it was a survey (perhaps an exact copy of their survey?), it must be legit?

Or maybe it was legit, but the person who sent it, accidentally, sent it direct to email accounts, rather than to My Messages?

Or maybe it was sent to My Messages, but something went wrong?

Sometimes, I haven't received messages that (otherwise reliable) people have sworn they have sent me.

Guess we'll never know!

Beats me.. my real concern is that the response was from SPOOF@Ebay. Those folks need to be pretty accurate since they are in charge of weeding out the spam & phishing emails ebayers submit. And they used to be.

I think people must get fired at ebay if they actually answer a question because nobody ever does!

Yes, ITA.

Maybe try forwarding it, again?
