Default Sold Coach Legacy Wallet - buyes claims received Dish Clothes today??

Help! I just received a email from a buyer who received her package today. She is claiming inside the box was no Coach Wallet and was 3 dish clothes?? and wants to know when I am sending the Wallet.

I packaged, labeled and sent the wallet on Thursday and it was delivered today. I sent it USPS Priority ,delivery confirmation and insured. How can I prove that I sent the wallet if she claims it was not in the box?? I have 1,300 positive feedback - No negatives ! Is she trying to scam me into getting a free wallet and her money back?? She has 200 positive feeback.

What can I do??

This is getting increasingly common. Its a tough one, did you take any pics before shipping? I would just email her and ay you know what you sent and she should check her package again.

Did she buy any dish rags lately? Check her buying history.

I would email her as well. This is getting to be insane. Before we know it, we will actually have to have witnesses who can attest to the fact that we actually packed and shipped a certain item. With 200+ positive fbs, you would think she would be trustworthy. You are going to have to do this just one step at a time and try to stay calm, at least with her.

How do I check her buying history - Her feedback only shows clothing. I received her phone number from eBay and left her a message.

Maybe this is some type of a sick joke? Or do some buyers try to scam the sellers?

Carla, I buy and sell on eBay. I use the feedback, www.goofbay.com and www.toolhaus.org to determine the history of a buyer and/or seller. Hope this helps. And yes, unfortunately, that seems to be the latest "thing" I've been hearing about.

Could you some how prove that you sent a wallet by the weight/cost of the shipping? I mean, wouldn't 3 dish rags weigh less than a wallet? Maybe that is something you could use to show eBay/paypal that you really did send the wallet. Just a thought...

Here is the email I received from the Buyer at 3 pm today:

Hello (my first name),
I received my package today. I paid for a Coach Legacy Wallet...Item #XXXXXXXXXXXXXX
I was anxious to recieve it as my wallet was stolen last week. I opened the box and instead received three Salux Skin clothes??? One in pink, blue and yellow.

To say the least...this is NOT what I paid for. Please let me know what is going on and when I can expect to get my wallet.

Thanks
XXXXXXXX

It is now 9:30 PM and I have not heard back from her - does this sound like a scam??

I definitely think it's a scam. I would think eBay would side with you because since it's a designer good, I'm thinking they would know these kinds of items are more susceptible to scams.

I would suggest to the buyer that she make sure the item is sent from you. If she insists that it is then I would open up a dispute. My guess is, she's trying to scam a wallet from you since her wallet was stolen. I would definitely keep a record of her emails. I think the fact that she admitted she had her wallet stolen could definitely play in your favour. Good luck!

these buyers are getting so good at this.

towels instead of a purse. pfffff.

who comes up with this crap? Shouldn't say that, cause the next buyer will say that's exactly what they got in the mail.......crap.

Ask her to take pics of the box, inside and out, along with the mailing label on it to verify it was yours.

You might also consider telling her she will need to file a police report since it HAD TO HAVE BEEN SOMEONE in her neighborhood. Make her take the extra steps needed to prove her case.

I am getting more and more worried about selling on eBay with each passing day. It sounds like a scam to me, and hopefully this will work out in your favor.

This is a good idea and exactly what I would do.

Now this is getting weird ! I just heard back from her --11pm Here is her message:

Hello,
The box was sent from (my name and address) It was sent Priority Mail via the US Postal Service.
I assume that was you. That was the person I sent the money to in my paypal account.

The box contained 3 "beauty skin cloths". I have no idea what they are but they certainly are not a coach wallet. I can take a picture of them and the box if you would like. The box was a Priority Mail box and appeared not to be tampered with in any way.

How did you send these at the post office? Did the postal worker wrap them or put the wrong label on the wrong box. Something happened.
I have ordered hundreds of things off of eBay for my store, my business and myself...and have never had any problem. But someone packed this box wrong or labeled it wrong. I really have no idea. I am just telling you what I received...and it has your address on it so I guess it was packed and sent by you.
I just want the wallet I paid for.
Her Name

Her email sounds legit ?? -- I packed it myself in a small priority box wrapped in coach tissue paper. Weighed it and Printed my label thru Paypal Shipping and put it in my mailbox for my mailman to pick up. I usually take my packages directly to the post office but this was a small priority box hidden inside my mailbox.

If someone stole it from the mailbox they would not have taken the time to change out the item and repack it and send it. This is getting weird! I am going to call the post office monday and have then check into this. I do not always have the same mailman- different ones all the time.

Is this buyer a good liar or is the mailman a crook? I don't think I am going to get any sleep tonight. Makes me want to give up selling on eBay.. I will probably have to refund her money and be out the wallet. Funny think is- why isn't she asking for a refund from me instead of a wallet ??? I had two Coach whiskey wallets listed in my Ebay Store and still have one left and she would know I have another one left.
