Default So I have 0 feedback..

I just opened my eBay account a couple of weeks ago...

I want to buy a couple of things and decided that I could sell some stuff I already have to make room. I have read that ppl don't bid on things sold by someone with less than 10 feedback... what gives?

How can I ever start selling if no one will buy from me because i'm new?

People DO take chances. Start with inexpensive things and price them very low with no reserve. That way the buyers won't feel they are putting themselves at risk. Take lots of CLEAR photos, give good descriptions with measurments. Reply quickly to inquiries.

I'm in the same boat as you are. Everyone has to get started and people understand that. Good luck!

Start small. I am also new to eBay (though not on other sites, so SHOULD someone ever want to see my other feedback, I can provide them w/that)... 0 feedback so far.

Right now, I'm just looking at bidding & trying to win small, cheap items (like shirts/accessories).

I would say the best way to do it would be to buy some things, just to establish a feedback number. Then I would sell some low value things to build up your selling feedback.

I, and others, would be wary of bidding on a high value item sold by a zero or very low feedback bidder for a couple of reasons. One is just trust. It obviously has nothing to do with you personally, it's just that positive feedback makes it easier to trust a seller. Also, scammers tend to be low feedback sellers because they have to keep opening new accounts. You are obviously not a scammer, it's just another reason some people are wary of low feedback sellers.

If you do choose to list items as a 0 feedback seller, they will likely sell, just not for as much as they would if you were more established.

Good luck

sometimes you can contact sellers beforehand, and they'll let you bid. My advice would be to start out with small, inexpensive items till you have about 10 FB before you start trying to sell.

Now that I think about it, I started off big, with an expensive piece of jewellery... but I had FB as a buyer and my sales listing had great pictures and lots of details in my description.

I also insisted on a very secure way of shipping. That gave me and my buyer lots of confidence.

you can build up your feedback by buying....you dont have to sell to get feedback.

I think you should buy also, books etc. When you are ready for the big buy, you'll have an easier time of it.
Also start selling small, then work your way up.
Patience!

The cheapest things to buy on eBay are recipes and e-books. So simply search "recipes" and "e-books", and then sort by LOWEST PRICE + SHIPPING. Quick way to build feedback for really cheap.

Hi, I have been selling on eBay forever...I just became a powerseller, and lately I will not bid on items or let bidders with 0 feedback bid on my items....Why? Actually, it never used to be this bad, but lately almost every bidder I have had to report is a 0 fb bidder...I don't know why all of a sudden......I would do what everyone else on here says to do, start with small attrative items, start a little lower than what everyone else is selling it for, this will generate interest....Also, if you want to bid on an item and it says 0 feedback bidders not allowed to bid, as mine do....Contact the seller, that is all you need to do, assure them to give you a chance and PROMISE TO PAY. That is why we don't accept 0 fb bidders, they can just change their mind, change their user id and move on.....but I know if they contact me first, and at least sound sincere, and the item is not too expensive, I will allow them to bid. Hope this helps.
