Default Should I ship to Unconfirmed PayPal address?

Experienced eBay sellers, please, help me out based on your experience.

I just sold a pair of Miu Miu shoes to Australia. I stated that I would ship to the Confirmed Paypal addresses only. The buyer seemes to be very nice, but she gave me an unconfirmed address to ship to. I notified her, but she said that's the only address she has.

Should I insist on providing the confirm address (or confirming it on Paypal), or should I just ship the item? I will ship with tracking options, of course, but I am afraid that it would disqualify me from the Seller Protectio policy.

Please, help! Thank you!!!

only ship to confirmed address unless you want to loose your money and your item.

i would suggest u base it on her feedback...not everyone who doesnt have an unconfirmed addy is untrustworthy...hey im from asia and when sellers see my fb im usually given the go signal to bid and pay via paypal

and the only countries that are confirmed are UK, USA and Canada...so even if she gives a different addy in OZ the address is still unconfirmed

What's the deal with confirmed addresses? I just got back on eBay a few months ago and I went ahead and confirmed my address because every auction was mandating it but I don't get why? I've never sold on ebay so what is the advantage?

Also, if you happen to be a PowerSeller, you do not have to ship to a confirmed address any longer. I ship to Australia frequently. I always use USPS Express Mail International and I insure for the full price of the item. That way, I know that I am covered. I have never once had a problem when shipping there.

If you are not a Power Seller, you must ship to the confirmed address in order to qualify for PayPal's Seller Protection Program.

I wouldnt do it, like meela said only do it if you want to loose your money and your item.

She can easily say it never arrived and claim back through paypal. As you would of sent it to an unconfirmed address they will give her her money back and not ask you to prove anything.

Really dont do it!!

Oh I get it....yeah I wouldn't do it. If you don't follow PayPal's guidelines strictly they will give the middle finger.

My boyfriend sold a PS3 and used paypal and because he met in person to exchange instead of shipping to an address PayPal said "F U Pay me" when the buyer used a stolen credit card and the company did a chargeback

I would definitely not do it ~ too much risk involved IMO.

If you are a powerseller you need to sign up for the protection before you are covered....it is easy and free.

I have always shipped to unconfirmed addresses, even before the PS protection. Of course I always checked the buyers feedback first.

correct, good feedback or not, this person is a stranger. nice or not anyone can take an oppurtunity to steal your money and get away with it. you will have no recourse, it is much too risky and i don't trust any stranger that much with my money.

Hey thanks for this info. I'm also from Asia - Singaporean living in Japan so my address looks unconfirmed and I have trouble buying Coach bags on eBay. What makes it harder is that I have very few fb because I just started. It is a pity I miss out on amazing deals and have to pay a little more to buy from reputable powersellers who are willing to take more risks.

BUT I guess that also means whatever I buy is authentic. Just sharing my experience as an Asian buyer. Coach bags are waaaaaay too expensive in this part of the world :o)

Thank you very much!

Paypal should be able to Confirm addresses in Australia, shouldn't it? It's just verifying with a credit card address....

I would like to say that I sell ALOT to Asian buyers and they are my absolute favorites! I am a Power Seller, and I DO sell to people with zero fb and above. I'm much more concerned with bidders who have a history of returns, negatives, etc. than I am with those just starting out. I have had only one problem with a zero fb buyer and it certainly wasn't payment. She paid immediately, but wanted the customs value changed. We amicably agreed not to complete the transaction and all was well. If it were not for my international buyers, I would not have much business these days. Love ya'll!!!
