This is what i recived in the mail today, a Mulberry agenda.

the dust bag, close up

the agenda

The decription on ebay said "This is a genuine chocolate mulberry agenda new with tag, Unused."

The seller did include the tags and I think it's genuin, but new and unused?

I've sent a message to the seller, but haven't got a reply yet.

It was sent in a bubblewrap envelop, but I don't think that was the problem.

The dust bag is full of dust and hair (both animal and human), and the agenda has sticky marks on the inside, scratches along the edges and the corners are really bent.

Did the listing say it can from a pet free place??It is supposed to be unused

This doesn't appear to be unused at all... disgusting as a matter of fact

to ship something out with dust & human hair plus pet hair..

You may not hear back from the seller for a day or so..but certainly if

you don't hearback by Thursday , would open a SNAD...

The listing didn't mention anything about pets, and I didn't ask since I'm not allergic.
The hairs can be easily removed by vacuuming or just picking them out with your fingers, so I just don't get why the seller didn't at least try to clean it.

I'm absolutely sure the agenda have been used, the sticky marks on the inside looks like food and some sort of grease.

I'm going to give the seller some time to respond, even thou I really just want to file a SNAD and leave her appropriate feedback right now.

If the seller is capable of sending me something this disgusting and calling it new with tags I find it hard to believe that we can work something out.

I don't disagree with you... but just give her a chance perhaps to explain..

not that I would be too interested in her explanation but you also may

not hear back either... so I would go ahead & file a SNAD if you don't hear by Thursday...

It is quite possible that it is new but there was already damage, maybe a clearance item. In any case, seller should have then specified the condition. Been there, been disappointed too.

Ohh that is super gross. It may be unused, but she certainly should have put the condition in the ad! What did her pictures in the ad look like? I would think it would be difficult to keep that kind of condition secret.

Are you ready Steve?
Sheesh.....................like the buyer isn't going to notice.

I can understand missing a flaw, but when the overall condition is so poor you have to wonder WTH they are thinking.

It may be unused but there's absolutely no way that this is "new"; to me new means perfectly pristine condition, which it is not.

There have been many threads debating the definition of "new". Technically new does mean unused but I agree that most people also think new is also synonymous with pristine. But sometimes unused items, e.g. display items or seconds are not in mint condition so ebay does have a category now called "new with defects".

In any case, a seller who simply calls something "new" and does not provide full disclosure on flaws or defects is not acting in good faith.

agree... not to disclose flaws or defects seems manipulative/deceptive

to me..

Agree..Not new. I have owned and used this agenda for 10 years. Mine looks better. I would return.

I got a reply from the seller and she stills claims it new and unused. She hasen't mention anything about it being a second, display model or given any reason for the condition.

The only explanation I got was that she had kept it her living room for awhile and that's why the dustbag was dirty.

I just don't get it, she apologizes about the dustbag, but not the agenda?
I can wash and vacuum the dustbag, but I don't think I can fix those corners.

She has offer me to return it, but this was an international transaction and it's going to cost me a lot to send it back.
