I hate e bay and i wanted to make my own auction site for free so people can move and start selling for free.

i can make it in 1 week max. but need to be motivated and need a peoples decisions.

I have been mulling this over myself, for authentic handbags only of course, but I am not sure how to get traffic.

Yes, please, my Hubby is software engineer. I just beg him make site similar with eBay :-0 but he said how I can control it???

That would be hard to impossible to do in a week. As much as we all want it- how would you guarantee the protections that you would need? Why would people trust your site to have access to their bank accounts, etc? How would disputes be handled?

that would be seriously cool, but also really, really difficult. It would take a lot of time and energy and money, and eventually, you'd probably need to start charging fees.

I have been SERIOUSLY thinking of this for weeks. I have been researching similar sites and want to create one. I actually joined tPF initially to enter the MarketPlaza, but hung around because I like the forums. I am a member of other forums that have similar classified sections but there just isn't enough traffic.

In the last two weeks I have been thinking to focus on Coach and have others available, but part of it is I do not feel qualified to "police" the items if they are not Coach.

If someone really wants to create one I am seriously interested since I have been thinking on how to create this for awhile.

Yes, but why would "we" need access to bank accounts? I know we all hate Paypal, but there are alternatives to where "we" wouldn't need the actual bank information. Couldn't that be handled by a third party?

The issue is "protection" on the web just doesn't exist. No matter how well we try to weed out bad buyers and sellers, in some cases you won't know until the first screw up.

I was thinking to run it like FashionPhile or eventually create a third party verification company to run the bags through but all this would take GREAT effort and I am just not sure how I could pull it off.

If we could use our own authenticate this ***** forum. For this it would be great. The girls that do it on chloe and bbag are brilliant, I would not buy a bag without them checking it out first.
