Default Selling an Item with Price tags...

Example....

If you sold an item for $10.00, but the price tag reflects .99 cents, do you black out the .99 before you send it off, or do you leave it?

Well, I"m more or less wondering what your eBay ethics are.

I'm thinking if you left the .99 there, it could provoke negative feedback since the buyer paid 10 bucks for it.

I'd hate to tear any part of the tag, since the ad description said "with tags."

The tag would still remain there...just with the missing part of the price...use scissors, to make a nice cut, instead of a ripped effect of a tear. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that AND you're sticking true to your description of having the tag on it.

is the price tag on the sticky tape thing? if it is, you could just remove it...if not see if a marker does the trick then

we live in a world where capitalism rules so its no biggie if it went for $10 when the actual item is merely .99cents but the buyer might see that as a negative thing...

I often wondered this. I usually just cut off the price.

Cut the bottom of the tag off.

As for buying something for .99 and then selling for $10 - that is eBay. Some or even most people buy from Ebay what they cannot find in a store themselves. I have some repeat buyers (I sell MJ bags often) that purchase because they are not close to a retailer that sells MJ... Just to be clear - I don't not get bags for .99

I really dont get it when buyers get mad when they realize that the seller made a profit. Sellers are there to make money (most are atleast) and there's nothing wrong with that. I remember last year some people here getting mad over sellers snagging NM and BG online stuff and reselling them. Sigh !

I once won a Disney Couture tote for $30. The seller sent it to me and the tag reflected that she paid $14.99. To be honest, I wasn't mad at all. The item was no longer available for sale at the website and the other sellers had the price set to $40 or so. As a seller I understand the need to make a profit. It's all good

If you don't want to remove any part of the tag use a permanent marker and a ruler to make a neat line through the original price.

ITA! You can cut the price only but let the tag with "designer name" or store name still there because you described it "with tag" and for somewhat reason, buyer will find reason to upset if they see the pay overprice.
