Default Seller said it was New but bag has been used
Hello ladies, I have a question here. I bought a bag on ebay and in the listing, the condition is "New Without Tags". However, when I received the bag, I found that there are wears in all four corners and some stains in the handles. To me the bag is not brand new though it's fair to say it's still in good shape. I don't know what to do - should I contact the seller for further action and leave neg/net FB or just let it go? I like the bag and would like to keep it. But I just really hate it when seller doesn't tell the whole truth....

Hi, you'll find all kinds of posts here on what some sellers call "New". I would definitely write to the seller, I'm sure you'll do it nicely, and see what kind of response you get. As far as feedback, that's up to you, but I would wait until you hear from the seller. If she (or he) wants to make you happy, that's one thing, if they just don't care, that's another. Also, is the price you paid "fair" for the condition, or did you overpay based on a real NWOT bag?

Definitely contact the seller! If she does not cooperate, file a Paypal claim. I am sure you will find another bag from a more honest seller. Good luck!

why would you want to keep a 'new' bag with stained handles??
file a paypal claim for SNAD and return it. your perfect bag will come along. you shouldn't settle for something that wasn't new as described.

Tell her that the description was not accurate, and that you want to keep the bag, but you want a partial refund. See how that goes!

I know the feeling!

If the bag's rare, I assume you don't know what the usual going rate is for it? As there is nothing to compare it with.

If that's the case, you (and the seller) will just have to assume that you paid the going rate for a bag of that type in its as described state and condition (as opposed to its actual state and condition), i.e. NWOT and mint (unless stated otherwise); in which case, depending on the brand and the popularity of the style, you, almost certainly, overpaid by at least double.

Take pics of all the wear and damage ASAP and then contact the seller and tell her what's wrong with the bag and that you have pics if she wants to see them.

Let's see what she has to say...

I took pics of all the wear and sent them to her in an email. Will post an update if she replies!

Could have been an honest mistake. If she was relisting similar, she could have forgotten to change the item specifics.

This has happened to me twice and I didn't notice till someone emailed me to clarify.

^ If it's a rare item (or rare to eBay, anyway), that seems somewhat unlikely, though, doesn't it?

I would think you probably can find this bag again so if you are really not

happy with the condition or your seller is not going to offer a partial refund,

I would send it back.

This happened to my 2X. Its frustrating because you want the bag, but you will end up hating it because you feel duped by the seller!

I don't know about you guys, but it takes quite awhile and quite a bit of use before my bags show any signs of wear at all. IMO, to list a bag as NWOT when it has obvious signs of wear is not just a minor oversight but a huge stretch and quite unethical.
