Angry Is this a scam? Should I be worried? Buyer accusing me of selling a fake.

Hi I know I can rely on the help of fellow tpFers here. Here is my situation. I sold a Louis Vuitton mini monogram Francoise back in May its now July and I get this message.
"I just come back from vacation and just opened the box.I cannot believe that
the bag is not authentic. You already know that and it's really fake one.
I need a refund.
I already reported this item. "

WTF!? Please advise I haven't responded yet. Is there any actions the buyer can take? Its been more than a month almost 2 months. What can I do? I am at a lost. I know its authentic and I took many pictures of it including the date code which was very hard to do. I even put security tags on it and took pics of that. I shipped it with tracking number through Paypal. Thanks in advance.

I think in order to prove it is a fake/win the paypal claim she needs to get authentication from somewhere. So if it is authentic, you should have nothing to worry about I believe. Could also be a scam.

If it really has been 2 months since the transaction, she cannot even open a paypal dispute with you because you must do it within 40 days of the auction ending/payment. I hate buyers like that, she may totally trying to scam you but if you're really sure that your LV is authentic then maybe tell her to return it in the same condition it was when you sent it (she pays for shipping) and if you receive it and it has not been worn or anything then just re-list it on eBay....

If Paypal tells her it's too late to file she can do a chargeback through her credit card company (if that's how she paid).

Sounds like she used the bag on her vacation and is done with it. She is probably a novice scammer.

you should be covered with a chargeback if you got signature confirmation.

Thanks guys I feel better now...I needed to calm down a bit before I replied. I had my suspisions right from the begining. I should have known better since she used an unconfirmed address. Since she is not disputing receiving item but on authenticity I should be ok. I know its authentic retired Louis Vuitton so I am not worried about the authentification. What I am worried about is the bait and switch scam even though I put security tags on it. Is it valid? Am I over reacting? How should I write the e-mail reply back to this buyer ? TIA

Just stand your ground and tell her it is authentic. It's been so long that she's really can't do much. Did you say that you do not accept returns in your listing?

I just hate these buyers that do this. I hope everything works out okay!

Yes I stated clearly the return policy which is within 3 days and only on authenticity only. I know it is authentic. So far I haven't recieved anything from Paypal. What about a chargeback? Do they require edvidence in regards to authenticity from sites like caroldiva? This is first time I am dealing with something like this and I have been selling and buying on eBay since 1999. Its so frustrating. Should I even bother e-mailing the buyer back or just wait and see?

I would not even respond to their email. It sounds like a scam.

if it's real, still be a little worried. worst that can happen is a return.

I have a bad feeling about this and I feel this person is trying to scam me. I think the account that was used to bid on my auction was hijacked. What was strange is that the "winner" paid almost immediately and through paypal. Unfortunately for me an unconfirmed address was use. The address doesn't match the eBay member ID location. So far I haven't responded back since I know this an authentic Louis Vuitton that I sold. I haven't heard anything from Paypal or the "buyer".

Mymeimei02, I need that buyers name or the auction number, if you have it.

This is a recent transaction and could help. What is the result of this case, now?

xxx
sorry, you may not ever post your own eBay ID or auction here
So far I have not received any further e-mails from this buyer other than the one I originally posted. I still have the buyer's real name and the address he/she gave me. PM me if you need that info.

Hippiechick1969, what exactly are you going to do to help? I'm really, really sorry to seem skeptical, but your account shows that you've been a member since July 2008... and all these people on eBay posing as tPF'ers would make anyone skeptical...

I have been a member since 02'. Hippychick is my daughters account, which she opened to sell some of my stuff, since I did not want to ruin my original feedback, with the new policies.

Perhaps I can paste my credentials here, let me see if it works (1 neutral in 7 years and that was the buyers fault):

<a href="http://s54.photobucket.com/albums/g1...aptured-01.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g1...aptured-01.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

I have uncovered plenty, which you can see here (post#135):
Paypal wants the fake chanel??????

This info has been sent to several places, that are looking into it.

eBay HAS RUINED MY BUSINESS AND I INTEND TO DO EVERYTHING I CAN, TO EXPOSE THEM!
I know that my photobucket photos are public. Most things are from using the eBay message board and I don't mind if people see them.
