Scam??

Alrighty, so DF won something off eBay, however it wasn't the "brand" name that he thought it was. It was generic and does all of the things that the brand name chip does. He haven't left feedback yet. Seller told me if him if he left a positive feedback he would refund $8. (it cost I think a little over $30??) What if he leaves a positive feedback and he does nothing?? Can we change the feedback?? TIA!

Was the chip advertised in the auction as the brand name version?

You can't change feedback once you leave it. You can only add a second response which doesn't change the initial rating. It sounds like this seller knew he was doing something wrong and is trying to save his rating. I would insist on getting the refund prior to leaving any feedback or returning the item altogether. Regardless, I would mention it in the feedback (positive or negative), so that other buyers are aware that they won't be getting the brand name product.

Once you leave feedback, you cannot change it - so I'd think hard about your decision. If it's not as advertised (they said xx brand name, but it was noname) then you can file a complaint with eBay.

I agree, get a refund first. He is actually buying feedback really, not allowed!

Unless DF wants to keep the chip, I'd just ask for a full refund and return or file a dispute and get all funds back. I would not let him bribe me into leaving feedback when he pulled a bait and switch. Good luck!

No..I wouldn't leave feedback till resolved...Was the item misrepresented?? And why is he offering $8 refund when you said item was $30??? Still confused..

You say it wasn't the brand name your DF "thought" it was, does that mean that it wasn't advertised as said brand name? If it wasn't, I don't think you have a case, but if the seller offers a partial refund for positive feedback, I'd make sure I got the refund first then leave feedback. If the item description said it was the brand name, I would return the item for a full refund (file a claim with PP if you have to) Either way, I wouldn't do anything until I got the refund as promised.
