Default Return in Person, How Do I Protect Myself?
I recently purchased a bag I am unhappy with. There were some condition issues that were not disclosed. The seller has a 3-day return policy and today is the third day. I bought it on ebay but the seller is a consignment store. I am going to call them to see if it's okay to return the bag in person, but if I am able to do this, what should I do to protect myself? How do I get proof I returned it? Should I ask for a printout of the Paypal refund? Or is this just a bad idea altogether? Thanks in advance for any help.

If you do a return in person, make sure you get your return payment in CASH. If you ask for a refund via paypal, but do the return in person, the seller could claim they never received the bag (worst case scenario).
Whenever doing transactions on eBay in person, it is best to make them cash transaction. Also, it could never hurt to have them sign a receipt or something like that.

Thanks for the advice. I called ebay CS and they recommended I ship it back (w/ sig. confirmation). The shipping cost will be worth the peace of mind.

If you are worried about the timeframe, try to ship it to them from a shipping center closer to the consignment store to ensure a quick turnaround into their hands.

I think i would go ahead and take it myself and ask them to do the refund while you stand there, i would say as they're a bricks and mortar store, they'll be unlikely to do anything underhand, they should do the refund as any other store shouldn't they? IE give you a refund receipt.

If the item is "not as described", then the seller's 3-day stipulation for return does not apply. You could raise a SNAD dispute and let eBay lead the way, you will be asked to return trackable with signature and you will get your full payment refunded.

Just something to consider.

Why be sorry when you can be safe and ship and be protected as well

( to a certain degree anyway)
