Default Recieved a FAKE LV and dealing with the crap!
OK so I wasnt going to start a thread on this because I didnt realize it was going to turn into such a nightmare, but I figure I may as well document my long, never-ending journey.

I saw a LV bag on ebay, listing got removed. (first clue I know!!)I contacted the seller and she said its 100% authentic and would be willing to meet me in person. While I was at the jersey shore on vacation we chose a spot and met in person. I looked over for a couple mins and everything appeared to be OK. I didnt want to risk paying cash so my BF offered to put it on his CC and purchased via paypal $927.00. I had recently taken all my CCs off of paypal so I could not put it on one of mine. I was so excited the whole way home as I have been wanting a Louis Vuitton Galliera forever and this one was in great shape(minus the one mark on the handle that the seller failed to mention! I got back to my moms shore house to examine the bag more and started having thoughts it might be fake. The heatstamp and everything had looked good to me, but when I rubbed my hand along the inside material, it was almost sticky, not smooth and soft like my other bags. I posted on auth this LV and it was confirmed it was fake. Contacted caroldiva and paid the $5 fee she also confirmed it was fake. Buyer not willing to take it back as she thinks I am going to scam her!? She wanted written proof FROM LV which we all know they dont do. Apparently an expert like Carol Diva means nothing to her. Supposedly it was puchased by her mother for xmas and anniversary and she doesnt think there is anyway its a fake. This was Sept 5th. Tried to open paypal dispute but it wasnt for 'goods' so I couldnt open one. (it was on a blackberry and we didnt realized we had not selected goods?) Contacted CC company and they are finally going to file a chargeback over a month later. I paid $60 for Carol Diva to write up the non-authentic letter and faxed it to the CC company. Currently waiting on sellers response in the resolution center which they have not responded to since it was opened on the 9th.

Oh that is so terrible, Itsonly4me. The only bright spot would be the refund from CC (from what I gather you have not received that yet?). Please keep us posted. What about the seller of the fake LV? Is she still selling things on ebay? If so, you need to post the ID and/or auction so she can't rip someone else off.

Advise the seller.... "You have sold me a counterfeit LV, which is against the law. I have filed a charge back with my credit card co. PP has advised you of same and is awaiting your response. Please provide a return shipping address via the PP Dispute Console."

They put a hold on the charge and advised me not to pay for it. I think this was her only "LV" she sells other little stuff though. Who knows, she might try to sell more... ebay ID daveyuno23.

I am sorry it happened to you I hope your BF's credit card does the chargeback and refunds you.
The lady is crazy, if Carol Diva said it was fake, then It is.. now, does she have anything to prove the bag is authentic? is there a way that you can meet her at the LV store so that they tell her it's fake?? What a nightmare!!
I am sorry that you are dealing with that.
What scares me the most is that the super fakes are getting better, you are a LV expert and that bag fooled you.. super scary!!

Yes she is crazy, and no she does not have any proof its real. She said she would contact her 'mother' for the receipt, but what a surprise she never found it. Actually what she said was her mom had better things to do than to look for it.
She will absolutely not meet up at the LV store as I have already 'wasted' enough of her time and am trying to 'scam' her.

I bet she knows it's not real. Most scammers get offended when they are caught.
If she were an honest person, gsince she didn't buy the bag herself, at least she'd doubt and would be willing to listen, but she is a scammer and she wants to keep you money, that's why is not listening to reason!
I hate people like that
I hope you get your money back!!

Exactly! I know I would have atleast a LITTLE room for doubt if I didnt personally purchase it. I guess she doesnt realize her mom isnt quite as giving as she thinks.

I asked the seller to verify their return address to send the bag back, as this is what paypal instructed me to do and this is the response I got.

"Just spoke to paypal. HA! You are in for a surprise! I told you not to count your chickens...you have NOT been awarded anything, simply opened a dispute, which YOU initiated as it was told to us that your 1st dispute was declines, so you filed a second. Don't try to scam people, it never works! "

#1 - I had never opened a dispute before as it wasnt for 'goods' so paypal wouldnt let me.
#2 - My creditcard company had them open it because I am filing a chargeback.

WOW, what an unreasonable seller!! If she were a decent person, she'd at least listen to what you have to say. IMO she is using the my mom bought me the bag as an excuse.
If her mom indeed bought the bag, unless she was with her mom at the LV store, there's no way she can be 100% sure that bag is authentic!

Well her two daughers were with her mom (young girls) so apparently that counts? lol

I agree though, I think she probably IS using it as an excuse. It makes it alot easier.

"Mom bought the bag," "sister bought the bag," "got as a gift" - All red flags. Let's hope she has to refund your money and cannot get away with this. Even if she didn't know it was fake (which I doubt), when confronted with a letter from CarolDiva stating it IS fake, she should be gracious and take the bag back. The problem is (though it's not your problem really) is she will probably just resell to another unsuspecting person.
That seller has 7 FB for small cheapo things - another tip off.

File a claim online through USPS. Since this was sent through the mail, whether USPS, UPS, Fedex, DHL it's all mail fraud. It takes a while for them to take action, but believe me they do take it seriously. It takes anywhere from 6 months to a year, and while by then your credit card company will resolve this, the postal inspectors will investigate and file charges on valid claims. This person is likely scamming other people as well. Also, inform the seller as well, she might be more "cooperative." However, whether she cooperates or not, you should still file the charge because you're not doing yourself or anyone any favors by letting a thief off the hook. Mail fraud is a federal crime.

Here's the link.
