After trying to decide if I wanted to start this thread at all, a PM from a fellow tPFer pushed me to do it after telling me about their experience as a buyer from this seller/buyer.
I had a buyer (
tysonmartin3)that purchased an item from me a little bit ago. There weren't any really obvious red flags about her, she was a little nuttier than usual buyers but nothing totally outlandish. At least at first...
Her main account has very high feedback (over 1k). Somehow, her feedback is pretty decent even (as a seller also). She asked a few questions over the course of the auction but it wasn't until she won the item that it got bad. She put in offers on other items- some reasonable, others not. I auto-declined several and accepted one on another item. The first item she won, she kept assuring me that she'd pay that day but that she needed the item immediately. She asked for me to send the item Express Overnight for free and to cover my costs, she'd agree to cancel the transaction so I'd get my fees back or she'd pay through PP directly. Shady. After an unpaid item case had opened automatically on her for the first pair, she paid. The second item she won she tried to keep negotiating a trade and then some non-sensical ramblings how she didn't want them anymore but then she did and was going to pay. Long story short, the second item went unpaid and she got a strike. Meanwhile, she kept insisting that we do trades, etc. No thank you. Now I'm getting nervous.
I shipped the first item that she eventually bought and paid for. Almost immediately after I printed the shipping label, she starts sending completely irate messages about why it's going to take so long to get to her (since UPS has an estimated delivery date). I explain that shipping was free for her and I only ship UPS because of the item's value- listing clearly stated Ground shipping with insurance.
There were a ton more emails talking about nothing up until the item was delivered. Then the onslaught of messages starts- literally, I had several sent within minutes of each other in the middle of the night demanding a response.

She stated that she didn't like how the new soles covered the bottom. There were 12 photos showing this and the listing stated that the heels and soles had been replaced. I offer to refund her but will not refund the initial shipping because everything was as described. She freaks. More emails that I lost track of. I wake up the next day to and get even more emails demanding my address because she's sending them back (at least 3 of those) then not to bother because she contacted ebay and they gave her my address and she sent them back. I wake up to this and am like,

and

. I explain to her that I'm going out of town so whenever the shoes do get back to me this coming week, she's still going to have to wait because I won't refund her without having the item in my hands- the tracking is not good enough because she was supposed to get a signature. This is Saturday, I believe. Monday rolls around, I'm out of town, and she's livid because the item has been delivered and I haven't issued her a refund. I politely tell her yet again that I am out of town and no seller will issue a refund sight unseen for an item of this value. This hasn't changed and she's just going to have to wait until I get back into town the following Friday.
For the sake of not dragging this unending story out much longer, she opens a case with eBay for SNAD. Makes up another reason than what she told me (new soles are covering the original soles and can't determine authenticity). I respond with exactly what I've been telling her the whole time- no refund until the item is in my hands, period. She escalates the case to eBay to decide and they decide in my favor with no obligation for me to issue a refund. When I called for clarification they said she violated the terms of her Buyer Protection on multiple fronts. More emails continue from her threatening me now that she's going to sue me and call the cops (yes, I'm still out of town and this is only the following Wednesday or so). As soon as I get into town, I see if the shoes are at the PO. They are there but SHE'S WORN THE SHOES!!!!
Even though eBay told me that I didn't have to issue a refund, I do anyway minus a very minimal restocking fee since they were not in the same condition as when they were sent. I'm still receiving non-stop emails from her- to my ebay account and personal account- vowing that she's going to get me back and that I'm a thief, to watch my back, etc. Not even a "thank you, I know ebay said you didn't have to issue me a refund but you did anyway"- more threatening, cursing emails that were all reported to eBay that have yet to stop.
And it doesn't stop there.
She used another account of hers (
shaymp) that appears to not have any link to her- different username, PP, addresses, etc. to buy another item. Same story though- waited to the very last day to pay to avoid a strike (after a case was opened), started sending harassing emails the next day after shipping item, etc. Even went so far as to try and open an INR two days after paying then left a negative before the item was even received just to damage my feedback. By total accident, I discovered that the two accounts belong to one in the same person after doing a little sleuthing on the addresses...turns out she's a business owner in NY. Frightening.
And it continues, she has kept sending harassing emails to my personal email under various addresses. I've heard from others that she's been trying to scam them under her main account that she sells under as well by playing the system and skirting the rules (telling buyers to return items and that they don't need a signature then denying that she got the item back). Some have said they won't leave her negative feedback because they're afraid of her and how she's bullied them from the start.
eBay won't tell me her other IDs for privacy purposes but they confirmed she has several other accounts that they can link. She was temporarily suspended for attempting to bypass the BBL and then interfere with transactions (or something like that) for what she did with the second ID. I doubt this is the last we've seen of her and considering she has been starting to sell a lot more recently, I thought people should be on the lookout since there is very little indication of what a nut job she actually is. It also looks like she tried pulling a similar stunt on another seller.
So, just another example of how you can never be too careful on eBay as a buyer or seller.

Sorry for the long post but I just had to rant...in my 13 years on eBay I have never encountered anything like this.
