PP holding funds??

I wasn't aware of this new *law* until the seller of the bag I just bought yesterday sent me an email asking me to leave positive FB as soon as I receive it so that she can get her $$!?! So I stopped here to look and see if it was true ~ and it looks like unfortunately it is.

Does this apply for all eBay transactions or just certain catagories/dollar amounts?

Sorry, I am not leaving postive feeedback til I get it! LOL! That is crazy on both ends for God's sakes! I was just thinking of selling a bag...but omg, no way!!!

I really think it's ridiculous the excuses paypal has to hold a seller's funds. I sold some invitations and after I sent the buyer a delivery conf # they filed a complaint with paypal that someone had accessed their account illegally. Since it wasn't my fault, paypal assured me I would be covered and proceeded to hold my funds. Their policy is 21 days. They held my money for about 45 days. No response from them, so I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (bbb.com) and they emailed me to release the money the next day the BBB started their investigation. It's a scam. Paypal is so shady.

Contact paypal, this happened to me a while back with a few larger transactions. Give them the tracking information through an email to show them it has been taken care.

Ok get this..... I just sold another item of similar value on my newer account and paypal DID NOT hold my funds!

But my other funds still haven't been released. Supposedly by Saturday.

Did this twice....they will not deviate from their policy. Everyone has to wait.

This is so strange. I wonder if the funds holding is just something random or, if they are holding funds when people sell certain items like certain brand names or something?

This is just crazy. I wish there was somewhere else that we could sell.
I know there are other sites but, none of them get the traffic that eBay gets.

For me this was the same brand item, similar value, same new ID.

I'm listing some stuff on bonanzle.com where it can just sit until it sells.. No fees! Some stuff I'm also listing on eBay too.

I think it mostly applies to seller with less than 100 feedback....

wow, i have never heard of this in the uk,???? anyone. is this a new thing. i'm really sorry to hear your story's if i sell my bag i dont want to have to wait, i want to use the money. what on earth is going on, if they did not let so many fakes sell, then they would not have to pay all this protection, again the honest seller gets it in the neck, cant we find somewhere we can trade in peace!!!!!! good luck to you all alfie x

Well, there are some really good trading ( swapping ) sites that you can buy, sell, or swap on but, nothing ever has as much traffic as eBay does which makes it harder to sell stuff on them. I mean, you can put a brand new with tags Coach bag on ebay and as long as you don't over price it, you can almost guarantee that it will sell within the 7 day listing time but, on those other sites, you may put that same exact bag up for sale and it wouldn't sell for months.
So, if you need something to sell fast, the only place that you are going to be able to sell it fast is eBay.

http://www.bonanzle.com/ seems to be the place where TPFers are going to sell thier bags. Hopefully, more people will catch on to it and start going there instead of eBay. I guess the only way to get more people to start using the site is to spread the word.
I'm going to make an account there and list a few things and see how it goes!!

Just wanted to mention that http://www.ecrater.com is another site that a few of the RM gals are using now instead of feebay. No cost to buy or seller.
