OK, I just received the following question (twice no less):
is this new and what are measurements? This is the title of my auction: NWT XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Handbag This is a portion of the text of my auction: This auction is for an authentic brand new XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX handbag. It measures approximately 16" long by 9" high. The handles have an approximate 8" drop. I'm thinking it's probably someone new to Ebay or from another country where English is not the primary language. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO, they're from California and have 5329 feedbacks. Please tell me to be nice and not tell them to read the auction. ARGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH. |

Oh gosh, people are so CLUELESS! This happens to me all the time. Usually I respond politely with, "The size and condition are listed in the auction, thanks for your interest in my item!" :o)
If they have at least one brain cell, they will go and re read the auction and feel like a doof

I know this happens ALLLLLL the time.People do not read at all.....just look at pretty photos.I politely always copy and paste what is in my decription --brand new and measurements taking out the un- needed things and add a few words.Just stay calm and polite,it is ok,maybe they will win it and be a awesome buyer that is always my thinking

This can be to test how responsive the seller is. Also, with the rise of misrepresented auctions, they can also be a disillusioned buyer who just wants to confirm the information that you've posted in your descriptiion. |

O.K. Be nice and don't tell them to read the auction. I know this can be annoying but the fact that you're getting questions is a good sign. I do have a suggestion though. I always specify the measurements one per line so it stands out - and I have yet to have anyone ask for the measurements. I don't know if you included the depth but that is important as well.

Haha, people amaze me. I just answer them but start off with 'as my auction states'.

Thanks for everyone's help. I know everyone is right. It's just so F_R_U_S_T_R_A_T_I_N_G sometimes. I've cooled off and I'm taking everyone's advice to be polite, pleasant, and nice. arggghhh

I know. I get them all the time too and I usually just grit my teeth and answer them. For some reason it just got to me this time. I could have put "for free" in the auction and they would have never seen it. Plus it was in the title, NWT, how do you miss that and with over 5,000 feedbacks they have to know what that means.

On the off chance that they might actually buy it, LOL, bite your tongue and give them the answer.....Argh. But what can can you do if you want to sell something?? Answer: the customer is always right. Right?

I think that's part of my problem. I don't believe "the customer is always right". Guess I was in retail too long. It's probably a good thing I'm not any longer.
