Question **Please HELP** Sold Bag & Buyer Says Never Received

I sold an authentic fendi bag over eBay to a buyer in New York. I had delivery confirmation, and did priority 2-3 day shipping. It arrived 2 days after I sent it according to the tracking. Now a month later, the buyer says she NEVER received it, but went to her post office and has confirmed that it was delivered but she just didn't get it. She sent me an email and asked me what I am going to do something about it. I am not sure what to do. I think its weird that it took her so long to tell me she didn't receive it.

Advice needed please!!

Never been in this dilemma before

LOL... a month???????????????

Okay, first from a Paypal standpoint YOU are covered since you have confirmation (but if it was over $250 it better have been signature confirmation)

Did the buyer give a reason for the delay in contacting you?

If the bag is under $250 and you have the delivery confirmation that show the package was delivered then you should be fine with paypal.

it sold for under $250, and i was sorta surprised to hear from her, cause I thought everything was ok, no problem after so long. The bag sold around June 2nd. She received it on the 5th or so. What should I tell her? Even if she really didn't receive it and its not a scam what should I do? Am I responsible if somebody might have stole it from where she lives?

What!!! Why in the world did it take her a month to wonder where the package was? Do you believe that your package really went missing and that she never bothered to tell you?

Just to cover my bases, I would call the post office and check on the delivery- if it was confirmed, then someone got it.

How did the buyer pay for the item? If she paid with paypal or a credit card then you may be facing some chargeback issues and need to make sure that you followed paypals policies. If she paid by check or money order, then it's up to you if you believe her. Frankly it seems very suspicious that it took someone a month to realize that their Fendi bag never showed up. I could see forgetting a magazine never showed up, but a designer bag, wow- either they must be a total shopaholic or totally out of it.

Does she live in an apt building? The package could be in the building manager's office. Or it may have been picked up by a roomate, boyfriend, Significant Other, etc, even her cleaning lady... LOL I had a lady one time yell at me that she also did not get a package I sent (tracking showing delivered). I asked her to check with other members of the household. Guess what... the husband picked it up and forgot to tell her.

Anyway for Paypal claims of non-delivery you would be covered as long as you provide them with the tracking no.

She did not get signature confirmation - the scanned signature. That's what PP wants for items $250 or more.

From PayPal:
In order to qualify, the following is required:

Seller has a Verified Business or Premier account.

The seller’s account must be attached to a bank account that is confirmed through PayPal’s Verification process. When you are a Verified seller, not only are you more protected, but you also increase your credibility and appeal with buyers. Verifying your seller account is free and easy to do. Learn more about Verification
Item is shipped to an eligible address.

For your transaction to qualify, you must ship the item to an eligible address. PayPal is continually working to increase the number of eligible buyer addresses. To determine shipping address eligibility, refer to the shipping address area of your Transaction Details page.
Item is a tangible good.

Only physical goods are covered by the Seller Protection Policy. Intangible goods, such as services or items delivered electronically (e.g., software, MP3s, eBooks), are not covered.
Proof of delivery.

To file a claim under the Seller Protection Policy, we’ll need a copy of the shipment record. Always retain proof that the item was delivered to the address on the Transaction Details page. Acceptable proof of delivery varies by country. Please refer to the Seller Protection Policy for details.
Signature receipt for valuable items.

For items with a value of $250.00 USD or more, in addition to proof of delivery, you must provide proof of signature from the recipient. This proves that the item was delivered to the buyer. Many carrier companies offer these proof of delivery services.
Item sent in a timely manner.

To be covered, the item must be shipped within 7 days of receiving payment.
A special note regarding international shipping.

Currently not all countries and regions are covered by the Seller Protection Policy. Please visit the Seller Protection Policy page to learn more.

It sold for under $250 so the seller didn't need signature confirmation just delivery confirmation.

First, I would transfer all my paypal money to my bank account before they freeze the account

Then call the PO and inquire about whom/ when the package was claimed.

Was it insured?

Still, waiting a whole month to inquire about a Fendi scored for under $250?

I don't think so, GF!
