Default Philippine Custom Charges for International Packages?

I'm just back from a 2-week impromptu Bangkok trip! Well, I can say it was a useless trip. I have been there several times and I was just not excited about it. So I just stayed at the hotel for the first 2 days we were there and opened the Purse Forum page on my laptop! I'm addicted. My older friend dragged me to the airport to come with her to Bangkok to get new stocks for her new boutique. My sweet DS was left at home, I missed him!

Today, I just made an order for bow bag at Saks Costa Mesa and had it shipped to the Philippines. The bag costs $1195 and shipped via FedEx. Anyone know how much I will be paying for customs tax and other charges? Please let me know! I have no idea and I'm scared of paying more $$$.

I have not been active buying on eBay for 2 years now so I can't buy the bow bag on eBay for less because I'm traumatized by fakes and scam. I have been scammed thrice and I don't even want to remember. Not to mention, PayPal. eBay and PayPal - both sickening.

Anyway, sorry for the long post which was only made to question the custom charges but I just want to rant about my unpleasant eBay and PayPal experience since this is an eBay sub-forum.

MODS: Please move this thread if it is not appropriate to be posted on this sub-forum. Thanks!

According to your customs website, lux items can be dutied up to 40%.
Don't panic. If they charge you - you can request and ask them to to reduce it.
I had a client do that and it worked out.
Good luck!
