Default Paypal wants the fake chanel??????
I finally won my dispute against paypal after they initially denied my claim for a "fake" Chanel handbag.

Here's the weird part, paypal is requesting that I send the item to their office in Texas.

Is that normal?

I thought I was supposed to send the item back to the seller.

Have any of you folks had to do this before?

You should be able to destroy it, since mailing counterfeit items is illegal. Check with paypal though!

I have always heard that they want proof that you destroyed it and that was it, never that they want you to mail it to them!

Thought so too, I made a BIG stink to paypal though and filed complaints with the FTC, BBB, state and gov att generals and contacted chanel legal counsel.
I have a feeling that they are scared....is that possible?

LV, Dior and Hermes have filed suit over seas, Chanel has not...yet to my knowledge, I wonder is that's in the pipeline?

I filed a dispute last year and won the case. Paypal requested that I send the fake bag to them. Afterwards, they refunded.

I'm not sure what they do with it. Hopefully they destroy it.

Google up the address, is it by chance an ebay-drop off store?

You are not going to believe what they do with the items. They've been reselling them thru these ebay drop off places (places like 'isoldit!'). They do so when they are unable to recoup money from the seller. Unfortunaly you are stuck and have to 'follow' as they say if you want the money back.

Wait a minute! WHAT????!!!! They are re-selling the fakes through a third party on ebay??!!! WTF??!!! Someone needs to get hard evidence of this that can trace this back to them because this is the most messed up thing I've ever heard! Can't they be "taken down" for this??

Interesting. Even if they sell them as replicas I thought it was illegal.

FYI Info found on the Paypal forums, I always check it out for updates. I saved them in my favorites and now of course they are gone -

"This discussion thread has been removed for one of the following reasons:
-the initial post in the thread was in violation of our Board Usage Policy.
-the member that started the thread has requested that it be removed.
-the thread expired due to inactivity"

Every once in a while someone will post this same Q and they are told it is an ebay drop-off location address that resells for Paypal. Unfortunately of course the auctions are wiped out so there is no records to go by.

WTF!

These *******s make you jump through hoops to get your money back, remove listings of authentic items for god knows what reason and then they take the merchandise and resell it on ebay?

That's just wrong!

Even if you state that the item is a replica, it's still counterfitting and illegal.

My husband said I should turn the bag over to the postmaster, police or FBI and send ebay proof of this.

I did a reverse look up on the addy and this is what came up:

Liquidity Services
12750 Perimeter road
Dallas, Tx
972-232-1300

I called the # and it's for buyer info?

I have added the link, hope this is ok,

Okay this is scary. I just went to the website from the link. At the bottom of the page there is a link to liquidators.com and from there you can choose accessories/handbags. They are selling lots with Coach, Prada, Miu Miu. The Miu bags seem to have tissue paper wrapped around the handles. I'm really concerned. Can these be fakes, and is PayPal really linked to this?

^^Okay so they got a little more sophisticated, same thing "liquidiate" the item...
Services

E-Commerce Solutions

Every organization deals with surplus assets — whether it is excess inventory, damaged items, end of lifecycle equipment or customer returns. While most manufacturers, retailers, corporations and government agencies have well-established forward supply chain processes, goods in the reverse supply chain are a huge, and often costly, distraction for these organizations.

LSI is transforming the way goods are sold in the reverse supply chain. We have created online auction marketplaces that combine the right services and the right expertise to quickly bring wholesale, surplus and salvage assets to market.

LSI works with numerous Fortune 500 companies, such as retailers, manufacturers, distributors, depot repair companies, and reverse logistics companies, to enhance financial returns from the sale of excess assets by providing liquid marketplaces and value-added services.

etc..
