Default new ebayer signs up and gives a best offer

I have several expensive high end purses up for auction right now, and I usually put an automatic denial after a certain amount on my best offers, so I dont have to send out a million no thank yous for low offers.

I got an offer on one of those purses (i must have missed doing this one) of $52 on a NWT $700 purse. WTH? This ebayer just signed up yesterday and I guess immediately made that ridiculious offer.

Really, why do some people think we would even consider such a silly offer? I responded with "add a few more hundred and we have a deal".

Just ranting.

It is most annoying when buyers do this. I think they are hoping you will hit the accept button by mistake. I always triple check which button I am hitting LOL

I know that the first time I made an offer I tought they (eBay) sell it no matter what to the best offer, then when I was a seller I found out how it really works. Maybe that's the case with your buyer.

She's really pushing her luck lol. I have a thing against newly registered members at this moment... I know it's not right but I relisted my Chanel last week and there were bids, but this newly registered ebayer (she registered about an hour before bidding) ended up winning the auction. I actually contacted her before the auction ended to ask whether she's prepared to pay, she replied confirming she is a serious bidder. A few days later, no contact no payment and she's suddenly no longer a registered user I sooo regret not cancelling her bid that time. And now poor me will have to relist the bag AGAIN.

Sorry to have gone off topic but I just had to rant...

Blah that sucks, it's people like that who makes it hard for serious new buyers to bid on eBay. Most people get all weird with me because I have zero feed back. ~_~; SOB.

When I have a "best offer" on one of my listings, I always go to the section is the listing that says 'automactically decline offers less than _______' and you can put in a number. That way, you don't even get the emails. If I have something on there for, let's say, BIN $400, I may put an auto decline on offers less than $350. I can't stand to get those annoying emails for $20 offers or something silly like that. Do the auto decline, then the offers won't even get emailed to you unless they are above that 'auto decline' price.

Okay..here's my latest that just cracked me up! I have a new Chloe listed for $949 starting bid..Retails for $1800 + tax...I didn't have 'best offer' option but get a message from someone offering $399 and before I responded she sends another mesage offering $315!!!! Do people think that I stole this bag?? where am I going to get a new $1800 Chloe for less than $300 to be able to sell for $315???? I can see making a REASONABLE offer - I'm okay with that and have accepted offers in the past but this one???

I had a buyer ask me numerous times to just sell her the tassle off of the bag I sold. The ENTIRE bag was up for auction with the tassle included but she wanted me to remove it and sell it to her for 20.00 because she already had the bag and wanted it!! lol

You can automatically block lowball people for each of your auctions by stating your "make offers" reserve amount. I.e, If your item is selling for $1500, just put in that you won't accept offers for less than say $900.... or whatever price you choose. It does this automatically, and then you don't have to bother answering the ridiculous offers because they get automatically declined by eBay. Go to site map and see how to do this.

I set the limits too on 'or best offer' to avoid the hassle of having to tell these poor souls with their low ball offers to get a life!!

I got an offer yesterday of $600.00 below retail for a LE item that ISN'T FOR SELL, its just in the picture with the set to bolster authenticity, I was short of patience, and told the person they should do research before they inquiry with lowball offers for items that AREN'T FOR SALE!!!!! UGH, eBay is very frustrating these days.
