Just wondering why you didn't use a local consigner? I take my stuff to a local place and it does very well. They get a ton of stuff in so normally for them at least I can expect to see my things out (cause yes I shop a lot there too) in about a week or two and it sells in a few weeks depending on what it is.

It does worry me that it took her two weeks to pick the package up. Either she has a lot of business or is slow to work on it. I think you are being a little anxious about it though, even if she had it up on the site doesn't mean it would have sold by now.

I'm not trying to be insulting AT ALL. I am just curious!! I'd never heard of doing this until I found this forum.
The main reason that I decided to consign my bags was because ebay is such a hassle right now - especially due to that 30 day waiting period. I can only list a couple of bags and then have to wait a whole month before I can list again. And if the bag doesn't sell, I can't always relist. I find it such a pain.

I wasn't really sure what to expect, I guess. I know that I signed something that read that she would have it in her store for a month. I just didn't think that it would take more than a month to get listed. I haven't been bothering her though. I think I'll give it another week or two... thanks for the responses, ladies. I wasn't sure if this time frame is normal and if I was being impatient...

So the seller did contact me. The reason she hasn't listed my bags up on ebay yet is due to the new/revised ebay purchase protection policy that states that if a buyer says that the bag they received is not authentic, they can destroy it and ebay will reimburse their money. She is trying to communicate with ebay to figure out how she is protected against fraud. She doesn't want to sell any other bags until she gets this resolved with ebay. I understand where she is coming from but I am not sure what to do. She still has my bags so I am not sure what to do or how long I should wait...

Sit. Stay. Shop.
Friendojolie, let the seller know that the new user agreement doesn't kick in until June 8th for current eBay members. Here's the announcement: http://www2.ebay.com/aw/core/200905....09-05-04104142

Quote:
The new User Agreement is effective immediately for new members registering on or after today, and on June 8, 2009, for current members. You don’t need to do anything to accept the new User Agreement. If you don't wish to accept it, you can follow these instructions to close your account.

My goodness! What an interesting turn of events! I'm shocked but sadly, more disappointed in the actions of tPF members.

Friendojolie, I hope I'm not out of line here, but I can't help but believe that you're aware of what transpired on the ebay boards yesterday as a direct result of this post and the doings of a friend of your's. I'm really disappointed in the lack of ethics shown by you and your friend.

Even after your bags were returned to you, your "friend" committed auction interference and malicious bidding in order to leave your consignor a negative feedback. And in fact, that neg was removed only after the "buyer" was outed (along with several other of his IDs) and was shamed into revising the feedback.

You picked your consignor (presumably) because of her fantastic reputation. Good sellers don't earn that reputation by ignoring clients and shirking their responsibilities.

First, I think you're being a little unrealistic in expecting your items to be picked up, photographed and listed within hours or days of receipt. (For my own listings, each listing takes a good hour from start to finish as far as photographing, editing, hosting, writing the description, etc.) I don't know how many bags you sent her, but you probably weren't her only consignee so she had other work to do. And lets not forget real-life responsiblity like family, shopping, cooking, cleaning, etc.

Whether you were aware of her dad's illness is irrelevant. Your expectations weren't realistic, and when she told you of her concerns with the new ebay policy, I'd have thought you'd be especially understanding since you wouldn't want to risk losing your own items.

But instead your post encouraged the ebay activity discussed in the following thread from the shoes, purses and accessories forum. Even if you didn't directly ask your "friend" to do this, your silence offered tacit approval. And your lack of response on that thread further tells me, at least, that you are/were aware. This is shameful and in my ever-so-humble opinion, your ebay accounts as well as those discussed on ebay should be permanently naru.

I am so glad someone else saw what had transpired on ebay. The actions of the OP and her "friend" are nasty and ebay should take action against all of the players, assuming they are not all the same person.

I agree. Retaliatory star dinging and feedback bombing is not right.

I saw the ID change. I checked my BBL and it had already been updated with the new ID.

as an avid member of ebay as a buyer I always read the boards and stay up to date out here but I decided to write something that may benefit all of us. eBay will not take this person down, they are hurting in the pockets too much to do that. On the other side, my eldest daughter has a friend that works in the seller's boutique in the Soho section of NYC. The seller posts little things on eBay and sells the bigger ticket items in the store. I am told that many big designer executives give him goods to sell, some I am told have ties to VERO on eBay who back up the seller. The point is eBay is a company that relies on revenue, that is all they care about us. The seller does big numbers and has great feedback however he is a jerk but eBay sees the dollar signs. By continuing to talk about the jerk makes those unaware of all of this to go and see what the seller has for sale, be it his retail spot or ebay and this is publicity for him. The less we talk about him the better. Let him sink slowly instead of us helping him gain attention slowly

He is not the owner of that store, he makes up lies. He has said he worked for Fashionphile too, that is a lie. What he does is similar to a trading assistant, he has listed things on ebay for the real owner of the store. Check it out, give the owners a call and ask if Rory owns the store.

As for ebay not caring, not true. Ebay does care about formerly NARU sellers. And they do shut down accounts all the time - even of powersellers larger than this jerk. And what he pulled on a well known seller, and misappropriating Fashionphile's name, no doubt Ebay will shut him down AGAIN.
