Default Need some advice please :)

ok, so here is my situation. In the past I always use my premium designer bags for about half a season and sell them on eBay for a fraction of the cost, which is totally fine because I deduct my own usage from the cost and I am okay with that. The dilemma I have now is I have a brand new fall 2008 bag, tags attached and everything that is pretty hard to find right now. I want to list it at full price because I have never even unzipped it, but based on the research I have done on ebay it seems that there are so many knock offs I do not see anyone paying full price for a bag anymore. I mean I will pay for shipping, but I dont want to discount the bag at all because I will use it myself if I have to. I just want to see what experiences anyone has had with this type of thing before I go through the motions of taking pics, listing, etc. do I have a good chance of selling a bag thats just like the bag at the store for full price on ebay these days??

^^If it's popular, you can probably sell it. In my experience, if an item is popular, it is highly faked, but those who want the real thing are willing to pay. Good luck!

Well, first off, is there ANY way that this particular bag can be returned to the original store, especially since it has never been used and still has the original tags attached?

If not, which I'm assuming it isn't, just list it. You have nothing to lose other than eBay fees to give it a try.

Depending on the brand of this bag (i.e. Louis Vuitton, for instance), you should have NO problems selling it. Just take many, many detailed photos to ensure authenticity and maybe even scan or take a pic of your original receipt (with your personal info blacked out, of course) as this will only confirm its authenticity.

Also, just be honest in your listing and mention that even though it's brand new and never been used, you just simply changed your mind. Anybody that is familiar with this particular brand of bag, they will know whether or not it's authentic.

I'm sure you won't have any problems.

you won't usually get full price for it on eBay, no matter how popular it is.

Look at what other people are selling it for and also search completed items.

Agree with elitebag, it's a good idea to research the bag on eBay and see the prices that they are going for. Because it's BNWT, you should be able to get a price at or very close to the price that you paid. Good luck with it!

have to disagree here, i've sold many balenciaga bags at full price and more and mostly slightly used too, it depends what the bag is, if its still made,a highly sought after colour etc
also, many people can't get to stores to buy in person so go to eBay, i live in a small area of the uk where the nearest hope to get anything designer would be about 5 hours away

Give it a try - like somebody else has said, you can only loose eBay fees which might not be a lot of money(depending on the listing price). x

If it's a sought after bag which is hard to find in stores then there's every chance of it selling at the retail price.
Good luck with it!

I agree, it all depends on what brand it is and how sought after and available it is right now. If it is hard to find and sold out you should be able to get your money back (maybe more if it´s rare). And like ladyisobel says...there might be someone willing to pay close to retail even if it is not that rare if, like her, they live in a remote place. Good luck!

It depends on the brand and how much are you willing to let it go for.
