Default Need help with Paypal dispute!

Guys I need some help!

I purchased a vintage Chanel bag on eBay in April.

The handbag needed some repair so I took it the Chanel boutque and they sent it out for repair to the factory.

In may I recieved a call from the store stating that they could not complete the repair because they could not "authenticate" my handbag.

I filed a dispute with paypal and provided the letter from Chanel stating the following:

Quote:
Enclosed please find the item which you sent in for repair. We have examined the item and, unfortunately, must advise you that we are unable to authenticate your handbag. There are many indicators of genuine CHANEL merchandise and they are not present within your item. We are always happy to repair genuine CHANEL products, however we do require some proof of the original purchase in order to properly assist our customers. Should you be able to provide us with additional information, we would be more than happy to satisfy your request.
Imo that's pretty clear cut, you can not argue with the manufacturer.

Paypals response to this letter as follows:
We received your fax. However, the document provided does not meet our
requirements.

Quote:
The document you provided does not support your claim that the item is
significantly not as described.
I countered that the letter is clear in stating that the item is not genuine, I doubt that a brand would come right out and say fake, perhaps that is for legal reasons.

What should I do?

You may need to get a letter from caroldiva or similar stating clearly that the item is a fake. You are lucky you sent it for repair as you may have never found out.

I know but it seems so wrong, how can paypal not accept Chanel's response?

^^^ Yet ANOTHER reason as to why I'm convinced PP is run by a bunch of tools. They actually REJECTED a letter from the TRUE manufacturer of the item. WOW!!!

Honestly, paypal are a bunch of crooks. If they refund the seller, they are missing out on their fees. I have a dispute currently open in another thread for fake LVs. I really hope it will go our way.

The bottom of the letter requests the name of the seller, and states that they actively purse those that sell counterfit Chanel and it has the name and phone number of the person to contact at CHANEL.

I advised paypal that if they did not resolve this, that I would call and forward to CHANELS legal department and involve them and the seller.
Not sure if they care but considering all the lawsuits they are involved in, I have a hard time seeing how paypal could leave themselves open like that.

Was this a handbag you inquired about on the 'Authenticate This Chanel' thread and we determined it fake?
